I look forward to the next pdf you pull from google that you haven't read which doesn't defend your original assertion

We have an entire forum for people like you to piss in each others' mouths. How about you take Highlandfire there and don't come back.

Since you are looking forward to it. One from their own editors:

THE PUBLIC EDITOR; Is The New York Times a Liberal Newspaper?

You're in the minority with your opinion on placing blame.

Wow. Just wow. Who are you, Dave D Rockefeller?

What a bogus poll. How many of the 1000+ that were survey were actually fans. Over 30% could careless. Sounds like not many.

You must be one of the bench warmers trying to get more money than you deserve.

Thread recap:

-lordsofpain drags liberal vs. conservative bullpoo into the issue like he does in every lockout thread, something I'm surprised more people haven't noticed

-he eventually cites a New York Times article which backs his point of view up, so you know he's super right because the NYT is a liberal rag and bah gawd if they'd stoop to reporting on a union losing in court...

-Fiz brings up inconsistencies with this viewpoint

-lordsofpain posts a bunch of stuff about how NYT's editorial page is biased as if it's generally not well known that an editorial page = opinion page. Also the fact that it's written in the last ten years makes it okay that it's not topical at all.

-Points about Thomas Friedman and others remain unaddressed, lordsofpain ironically accuses Fiz of cherry picking information and then calls him a "jackhole" for making a big deal out of nothing

-Everyone looks forward to the next shrill lockout thread where lordsofpain and highlandfire howl at the moon about "liberal judges" and "lib newspapers"

You're welcome

Judges who must have been purely politically neutral ... right? RIGHT!?

whose judges are conservatives. it doesnt matter what court they appealed to they knew they were in favor when they decided to appeal to that court. just like the players knew they were in favor in Minnesota. it is other circuit courts they could have appealed to.

Are you guys both dense? The owners had absolutely no say in what circuit they appealed to. The players brought the original suit, leaving the owners only one circuit court to appeal to. The players forum shopped for Judge Nelson. They got bitten by the circuit court responsible for her district.

Again, the owners only had one option as far as appellate court. The players chose that court by choosing where to originally file their suit.

Nice one.

You probably never took statistics in college or high school, not that you attended either, so I can understand why a poll such as this would be a little over your head.

You must be an old decrepit out of touch privileged white male who thinks you deserve more than others.

Hmm, interesting, I don't remember trying to argue the amount of 'say' the owners or players had in choosing courts.

Oh look, you've quoted me.

I'm right, I didn't try to argue that at all. I wonder if you had understood the context of my comment you might of understood I was pointing out the naivety in thinking the 8th circuit has no political persuasion. But alas, that may be asking too much.

Another one that missed the point...I post an article that said the owners would probably win the appeal....fiz gets upset, because i called his all important crap paper the New York Slimes and he asks why and I tell him...he then get his panties in an uproar again, and starts personally insulting me....I go on the internet to find backing, which the research paper did (with all 4 of the crap papers) to prove my point that NYT a liberal news paper and an article from one of their own (which had you bother to read before butting in), addressed more than editorial page. Proving my point once again.

Saying this has nothing to do with political view points of these judges, is either naive or you are in denial. The fact all 3 liberal judges side with the union (every time) and the 2 conservative judges side with owners, must be purely coincidence...

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
