Tender offers?

Is there any reason not to offer a player the lowest tender? I mean, sure, if the guy is really good and you want to keep him, you go with a higher tender. However, what if he's a nobody and a decent ST or depth player? Couldn't you just get away with that player having a basically non-existent cap figure for another year?

do you think any teams have interest in him as a starter. in a 3-4 or 4-3

I think he was JP before JP..in other words stated his desire to play in a 3-4. :D

He would be an ILB in a 3-4, IMO. This year is supposed to be a good one for OLB conversions from DE per a few draft guys like Mayock. Coupled with the 2 new teams running the 3-4 (Den & GB), he may have a better shot at a gig this year than last year.

Whoa :sosp:

As we already knew, they tendered TE Jeff King at $1.545 million, and LB James Anderson at $1.01 million. The team just announced, they tendered S Nate Salley (almost certainly at $1.01, though they didn't say), but not DT Gary Gibson.

They also tendered deals to exclusive rights free agents DT Nick Hayden and CB C.J. Wilson, but not DT J'Vonne Parker and WR Jason Carter.

Gibson and Carter will likely be back later, not sure about Parker.

Tenders In

Gibson and Carter are now officially unrestricted free agents. They still could land here with minimal deals, of course. Still, quite a surprise.
