Chad Ford hints at who the Bobcats may take!!!

Recommended Posts

Source: HoopsWorld.com

(Kawhi) Leonard, (Chris) Singleton and (Tristan) Thompson all drew praise from Bobcats sources. I'm told the Bobcats are going to be pretty conservative with the ninth pick. They'll be content with a single or a double and will likely go for a proven prospect who can be an impact player out of the gate, even if that means drafting a player with a bit lower ceiling. In other words, don't expect them to take a swing for the fences with a player like (Bismack) Biyombo or even (Josh) Selby.

Of the group, Leonard and (Kemba) Walker are at the top of their list, but neither player is projected to be on the board at No. 9. That should leave the two Thompsons (Klay and Tristan), Hamilton, Singleton and the Morris twins battling it out to be the ninth pick.

(Kenneth) Faried, Markieff Morris, (Marshon) Brooks and (Nikola) Vucevic are all serious possibilities with the 19th pick.

So from this article and from some other research that I have done, it sounds like the Bobcats have their prospects in this order for the 9th and 19th pick's...

1. Kemba Walker, PG, UCONN (Pro Comparison's: Ty Lawson, Kyle Lowry)

2. Kawhi Leonard, SF, San Diego State (Pro Comparison's: Luol Deng, Gerald Wallace)

3. Klay Thompson, SG/SF, Washington State (Pro Comparison's: Brandon Roy size and ability/ Mike Miller shooting)

4. Tristan Thompson, PF/SF, Texas (Pro Comparison's: Kevin Garnett size/ Andre Iguodala ability)

5. Jordan Hamilton, SF, Texas (Pro Comparison's: Stephen Jackson, Rashard Lewis)

6. Marcus Morris, SF/PF, Kansas (Pro Comparison's: David West, Al Harrington)

7. Markieff Morris, PF, Kansas (Pro Comparison's: Rasheed Wallace, Drew Gooden)

8. Chris Singleton, SF/PF, Florida State (Pro Comparison's: Trevor Ariza, Shawn Marion)

9. Kenneth Faried, PF, Morehead State (Pro Comparison's: Ben Wallace, Udonis Haslem)

10. Marshon Brooks, SG, Providence (Pro Comparison's: Nick Young, Jamal Crawford)

11. Nikola Vucevic, PF/C, USC (Pro Comparison's: Mehmet Okur, Kosta Koufos)

But really:

Drafting Kemba may be appealing but Augustine has been doing well and that's just another small guy being added on a team that needs athleticism don low. Our number one priority should be getting athletic & big at 4 & 5 imo. I don't know why we wouldn't at least try trading down to get Valanciunas or Kanter. I don't think Leonard will be available, but isn't worth a trade and so we're basically looking at Tristan Thompson. Its a tricky position.

    • I mean, no I’m not going to panic when he got 2 Qs and looked great in 1 and looked not great in another (let’s not mention the drop).    Yeah we finally have a team that would be considered average offensively around him. Let’s roll this season.
    • The woe is me everything but Bryce sucks mantra is stale af my friend. Look nobody here is going to argue with the fact Frank Reich was not a good head coach. At the same time. Bryce Young is now in his second season with his second coaching staff and a handpicked young offensive head coach who has been known for working with QB's such as Baker and Geno. As far as the offensive pieces around Bryce we have the 4th highest salary cap allocation (that might be even higher now after the new Moton deal) dedicated to the OL in the entire league. We have 2 first round WR's one of them 8th overall the first time we've ever selected a WR that high in franchise history. And the fact of the matter is Bryce Young did not have a good preseason. It's not the first time it's happened either. We all hope to see he and the rest of the team flip a switch in week 1. But we should all be able to agree that the offensive performances we've seen from the entire QB room (Bryce included) in preseason was simply unacceptable.
    • We have seen Bryce play… what… 9 games with AT BEST what one would consider NFL average WRs? You just can’t see the forest for the trees and keep going back to your lazy take of revisionist history.    he looked AWFUL Y1 with the worst coaching I’ve ever seen in the NFL and one of the weakest WR rooms I can recall. He looked awful first half of y2 and great second half of y2 with average coaching and average skill position. I don’t know where this elite talent argument even comes from.
