AlbertBreer And Carl Eller is in the building. Interesting.

AlbertBreer Eller is of course a plaintiff for the retired players in Brady & Eller v. the NFL.

AlbertBreer Interesting - Plenty of football-involved folks (Bill Polian, Scott Pioli, Bruce Allen, Kevin Demoff, etc.) here at this 2-per-club meeting.

AlbertBreer ... Number of football people here indicates that they'll be talking about how to get the league year up and running, when a deal is done.

MarkMaske In addition to the owners, there are a lot of football-operations people on hand today--Rich McKay, Scott Pioli, Bill Polian, Bruce Allen.

MarkMaske The football operations people presumably are here to discuss issues like how free agency would work after a potential deal with players.

MarkMaske It still appears the dissent among the owners is not enough to generate the nine votes that would be needed to block a potential deal.

MarkMaske But again, this meeting seems designed for every owner to have a say now, before a deal is done, and to get everyone on the same page.

DonBanks Colts owner Jim Irsay at NFL meeting: "It's the season to make a deal. This is the time, in the next couple weeks. ''

DonBanks More Irsay: "It's always fragile and difficult. But 90 percent or more on both sides want to get a deal, so both sides keep working.''

DonBanks Irsay on the push to save the entire preseason: "I think that's the hope. That's the logic on both sides. It just makes sense to have ...''

DonBanks More Irsay: "...a sense of urgency and get a deal done.'' Irsay was optimistic and repeated that now is the time to get a new CBA done.

DonBanks It is now expected by the league that today's meeting will last only one day only, with no Wed. session required by the owners.

AlbertBreer ... 1) To maintain competitive balance, assure teams involved w/labor comm don't have an edge; 2) To plan for how end of lockout would look.

They met today in Chicago and league told owners to prepare to stay an extra day. First time in awhile all 32 teams are meeting.

When was the meeting supposed to begin? How do these tweets and reports fall into a timeline of today? Thanks for the info, very interesting.

they all have been within the last hour. comments from irsay were all within the last 5 minutes.
