Hypothetical hiring scenario

If "she" is the best qualified and will do the best work hire her. I don't see the problem. After the initial fire storm hits the other employees will get over it too. The only problem I could see would be if the new worker made herself a problem by always making her gender a issue focal point but I doubt she would.

Just becareful. If she is the most qualified and it seems that you might have perhaps not hired because of her sexual preferences you could get into a lot of trouble.

Not worried about it, I hire with a clear conscience

There's no law (that I know of) stating she can't use the women's bathroom. So they should get the hell over it and be happy that you're hiring someone who will make their company more productive instead of someone who doesn't know what the hell they are doing.

Why is this a question? Just because they wrote a question mark next to "gender" doesn't mean they aren't qualified...?

I know what I would do, as I'm not a closed minded bigot.

I did however encounter some pretty despicable feedback from the current employees here about the prospect of me hiring her this morning.

I was curious if other people felt the way they did or if I just work with some closed minded SOB's. FTR it was all women who had issues with the idea.
