Right of Refusal

Uh, I don't recall anyone saying we would throw crazy money at our players if better players are available. Charles Johnson is 25, had about 12 sacks with no DTs and not much help from the other side. I realize that it was only 1 year, but still, 4-3 DEs are at a premium in this league and our coach knows that better than anyone. Who in free agency is better than CJ? It is debatable. We are not letting him go. To us, since we have 3 pretty good RBs in the stable, I think spending big on a 28-year old RB is not smart when you need top DT and CB help.

I did say that we would retain CJ unless the money gets stupid. JR paid Peppers more than he was worth to keep him here. He paid Jake more than he was worth. I think there are times when you have no choice. CJ is in the captain's seat, and he will be a Panther next season.

Actually, he didnt, he was busy getting a new heart and all.

davis also went to UG, so of course the faclowns fans want him

Believe me I know all i hear from falcons fans is the constant

Derp Johnson and Davis went to uga they like us better hurr derp they look better in red hur dee derp we will win the next 4 super bowls so of course they'll sign with us derp we'll just ignore the fact we have a number our own players to sign too huurrrr de derp

I think a number of teams would be lining up for Davis if it wasn't for the knee

I'm just praying that the reason the FO franchised Kalil instead of Johnson was that they knew something we didn't - ie, Johnson expressed that he wanted to be back. If we lose him, that will put a huge damper on this season, b/c as we all know, Everette Brown ain't gonna cut it as a starter...

Everette Brown finished the season rather well last year.

I don't know if there is a bigger collection of idiots anywhere on earth than down in atlanta. I have not once heard a falcon fan make anything close to a semblance of a rational thought. We are talking about mass stupidity on a scale which rivals that of the french.

I think of this every time I hear one of them say something:

And another thing, have any of you guys actually ever been to atlanta? The place is a dump which rivals hell itself as of the most least desirable locations to live in. The entire city is a slum.

When I have to go through georgia, you won't find me anywhere near that trash heap. In addition to the fact that I don't want to risk myself to any of the local airborne microbial bacteria, who wants to drive through the most inefficient road system this side of the equator. To top it off, there is constantly a mass exodus of people trying to escape the city, so you move at a pain staking 7 mph, in an area in which you can't dare leave your car because of all the gang shootouts happening on each side of the freeway.

Atlanta could fall in the ocean for all I care.

    • I watch a ton of NFL because the product on the field is still the best on the planet. But, that will only get you so far. US sports fans are an aging crowd so there will be a dramatic drop when the Boomers die off and the GenXers do, as well.  The Millennials will probably be the last major generation that watches sports in high numbers.
    • The Bryce stanning is relentless.    Cam’s team won two games the previous season and legit was picking 1st. Bryce’s team won 7 games the previous season and was actually in playoff contention. And legit earned the 9th overall pick.  If anything made that team worse in 2023 than in 2022 it was Bryce. Come on. And missing DJ, I’ll concede that.
    • I see the logic in what you're saying, but I'd also say there were games with a bit more talent on the roster that some of the L's are actually W's.  AZ - We don't get off to a crappy start and if this game is later in the season when Bryce is a bit more comfortable, I think we beat the Cards NO - At least one of, if not both of these games would've gone our way SF - Perfect opportunity to snag a win on the road that Purdy handed to us, but we couldn't do anything offensively TB - Final game was winnable in Tampa  All this to say, I think 8 wins is about where we were at in 2025 if you take the games we barely won and combined them against the games that we barely lost.  Add 5-6 new pieces in FA and the draft. We went head to head and almost beat the Rams in a meaningful playoff game that gave a lot of the youth that experience to take into 2026 and beyond, and I do think 10-11 wins is achievable next year.  Not guaranteed, but much the way folks thought we could get to 8 or 9 wins this year as the ceiling, I think 10-11 is the new ceiling for next year.
