What about Cam will revolutionize the game?

A fact that seems to be overlooked is that Cameron is bigger than almost everyone he plays with. The D-line are basically the only guys bigger than him. Which means that once he clears the line, he is the biggest guy left on the field. I do realize that there are a few LBs that big, but as a whole Cameron has to like his chances.

That said, I would prefer he look to pass first, run second except for the occassional QB draw. Hang around the pocket as long as possible, then do what comes naturally.

Folks need to realize height doesn't really help when it comes to running people over, if anything it makes it harder. He's 6'5 250 and most linebackers are at least around 240 and not as tall. He may be bigger than DBs but he's really not much bigger than most NFL LBers (bigger, not taller).

The average LB is closer to 6'2 235-240. That makes Cameron quite a bit bigger than those guys. There are bigger LBs, like Ware and Willis, but they are few and far between. Which makes him one of the biggest guys on the field. That can only help once he breaks the line of scrimmage where everyone will be smaller than him. He should be the one dishing out not being dished on.

Who was it? Evans that took out Culpeppers legs? Sure that can happen. What I am saying is, that during normal events, he will be bigger, stronger, and outweigh just about everyone he runs across, or over.

Cameron is not 6'5 and a twig. He is built, he will be ok, and he definitely has an advantage.

I do not know anything about his JC days, but I watched almost every Auburn game and I do not remember him getting hurt much if at all. Ain't sure where that comes from. But then again, I am not the sharpest tool in the drawer, so I guess I could have missed something.

The only time I can remember Cam hurt last year was in the 4th quarter of the Alabama game last year when Marcel Dareus spiked his leg (Cam limped a bit, but was OK).

And early in the 3rd quarter of the BCSCG where he got hit in the back with a helmet. Now THAT one slowed him down, but didn't prevent him from completing passes and making needed runs though.

Just wanna throw this out there, being bigger than CB and S doesn't make he will break the tackle. Doubt they are gonna be going head up with him. Small guys are taught to tackle by taking out your legs. Doesn't matter how big you are, can't run when someone takes your legs out from under you.

Well I have definitely seen LBers and DE's bounce off of Big Ben and Josh Freeman, so don't ever say it can't be done. Cam is just as big and quite a bit faster than both of those QB's. The real advantage though, is that the defender is always reacting to what the offender is doing, which means they can be set up so that they can't get a solid hit.

Maybe if they go head on with each other. But at 6'6 250 pounds those linebacker are going to have to form tackle him. There won't be many one armed tackles like you see against Vick.

Plus those big bad linebackers had a hard time bringing Freeman, Big Ben, and The Golden Calf of Bristol down last year (he had 94 rushing yards against a Ron Rivera led Chargers team last year). And Cam is light years ahead of any of those guys in terms of scrambling/running the football.

So we shall see.

Trying to take out Cams legs is not the surest way to tackle, it is hit and miss at best. Cameron has the ability to make the first guy miss, so wrapping up and waiting for help will probably be the norm for tackling Cam.

That said, we all pretty much agree we do not want Cameron running around nilly willy. Maybe a few scrambles, and the occasional QB draw should suffice. We would all prefer that he move around in the pocket, roll out, anything to extend the play. Then maybe run. Just do what comes naturally is all I ask.

I do believe we have one of those instances where we will have to wait and see how this does play out. I just happen to believe that with Cams size, strength, and athletic ability, he has a distinct advantage over almost every player he faces.

As I have previously stated. Other than scrambles and a few QB draws I do not want him running just to run. To be the most effective Franchise QB he can be, he has to be a passer that can run, not a running QB.

Personally, I cannot wait to see how this does play out. Because, I see excitement on the horizon. And GOOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!

I seriously doubt Cam will look anything like his college days. His skills will translate to extending plays, not by running people over. Size is not a big advantage, he'll lead the league in fumbles if he tries to play like he did in college. That's assuming he isn't killed by week 5.

I have no doubt that guys who hit Cam high will likely bounce off. But CBs and smaller safties are going to be hitting him low, not high. So IMO it shouldn't be assumed that he is just going to be running through them. Big guys still have a hard time running when their legs are taken out.

Nowhere in my post did I say Cam wouldn't have an advantage. Every tackle is hit and miss. Hitting a big guy low has a much better chance then hitting him high.

I will only add that as of July 3, 2011 Randall Cunningham, Steve Young, Mike Vick, Vince Young, Kordell Stewart, etc. have not been killed by NFL linebackers.

Mike Vick has taken severe punishment, he's the worst example to use, aside from Steve Young who retired and is a prime example.. Kordell Stewart wasn't even legit, but nvm, you're right he was a great punter at one point. lol

I have nothing on Randal Cunningham. All I can say was when I was about 5 or 6 I thought he was the best QB ever to play football.. (granted, all I ever did was watch highlights considering he was long retired by that point..)

killed perhaps not, but linebackers and others took their tool on many of those guys on that list

but I doubt cam will be killed. maimed, injured? sure, perhaps even disabled for a week or two, but killed?? I'm pretty sure the competition committee just passed a "No Killing Quarterbacks" rule, so we should be OK.
