Not Guilty

I've served on a jury in a murder trial.

If the jury pool had a minimum IQ requirement, probably close to half of my fellow jurors would never have made it. And I seriously doubt that trial was unique in that regard.

This is one of the things I really hate about the justice system.

LOL. That is the second knee jerk reaction. "The jury is just stupid". People act like these guys just took the evidence and said "Yeah she is guilty but I looked at her from across the room so I am going to let her walk"

The fact is that the state over reached with Murder 1 with a pretty weak case. I am not surprised at all and I watched a good bit of the trial on HLN.

I would rather a guilty person go free than an innocent person be convicted.

Happened almost everyday until DNA came into play.

People are still being released to this day based on DNA evidence....back then, you could be convicted simply because your blood type matched that of the killers....pretty crazy.

gawd I love the show Cold Case Files.....not to be confused with the shitty one....Cold Case.

no. she was found not guilty. big difference.

No it isn't.

uhhhh.....yes it is

If you are innocent, you are absolutely without fault in all aspects. But you still face all the consequences of being charged with a criminal offense. If you are not guilty, you perhaps did not do the crime, there was no crime, they arrested the wrong person, they could not prove their case, any one or combination of the above can produce the not guilty verdict.

basically, a jury will never come back and say, we find you innocent. never.

you can claim your innocence, but from the day you are indicted....you will either be found guilty or not guilty based on the evidence and facts presented in the case.

I'm sure the people who let OJ, the Menendez brothers and Casey Anthony off were all brilliant people too.

I don't know. Point is because you had a bunch of morons serving with you doesn't mean that is always the case or even typically the case. That's a silly assumption.
