Thigpen to Carolina??? THINK about IT!

Tar Heel Blues

Thigpen did amazingly actually, he was overshadowed by Flaco and Ryan because he came on late.

yea he did good towards the end of the year, after they removed the pro set offense almost completely and went to a shotgun offense. Same as Cassel, isn't good dropping back from behind center.

I have no idea how good Tyler Thigpen will be or how good he could be on this team. I'll leave that up to the experts.

I will point out that many thought Delhomme and Kurt Warner would end up being career backups. At the same time many on here also said that Carr would play good in Carolina once he had a good o-line and more talent around him.

I got to watch a bunch of KC games last year and this guy is insane accurate and he did it with out a lot of talent surround him. Imagine him throwing bombs to STEVE SMITH and handing off to Double Trouble all day long. I think we'd average 30 ppg with him.

KC Still has their #3 overall pick and they need a pass rusher to replace Jared Allen. YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING. We might need to toss in a 3rd rounder to make it fair and square but Thigpen + #3 overall for Peppers and a 3rd or 4th would be straight cash homey. Think about it. :patriot:

We averaged over 30 points per game over the last six or seven games of the regular season with Jake. So....

Where's the advantage of changing something that worked so well?

I am standing by prediction that the Panthers will go after Kyle Boller

McCown is better than Boller.

Honestly I wouldn't take Boller over Matt Moore.

(Tedford QBs about always stink in the NFL, same as June Jones guys but for different reasons)

Worked so well until he went up against that vaunted ARIZONA CARDINALS defense. Also struggled against the mighty OAKLAND RAIDERS and DETROIT LIONS. If it wasn't for prepare for trouble/make it double J "delicous" Stew and De-Looooo williams the only quarterbacking Jake would be doing would be from his armchair. And he would be third string. Jake wouldn't even have the self-confidence to draft himself in his own fantasy league, and Jake plays in one of those whacky leagues where you start 3 quarterbacks.

I think what I'm trying to say is THIGPEN '09: CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN :patriot:

i agree that we need to think about bringin in a young qb to start grooming to be the starter in a couple of years. although i still think moore can get the job done. but IMO the suggestions of trading peppers for thigpen or cutler or any other qb is not a good idea. yes jake had realy bad playoff game. we all know it. and he knows it. but jake is our qb and for the most part hes done a pretty good job at it. we are a run first team and we have a running game that is maybe the best in the nfl. if we trade peppers it needs to be for draft picks to improve our d or players to improve our d. but if we could somehow get him and it not keep us from improving our d which is the biggest need we have. then i would be all for having him coming in and playing behind jake for a year or maybe two before taking over

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
