NoseTackle will be a huge focal point in our new Defense.

im sorry but the best way to groom them is by them seeing the field getting the experience. bringing in depth at the spot is needed but i believe that Fua will start week 1 as a 2 down NT in this system.

I agree they need experience but starting a rookie is like throwing a new swimmer in the deep end and expecting them to swim right away. The much better approach is starting at the shallow end and letting them work their way into the deep end as they gain experience and improve their skills. Likewise starting rookies sometimes happens but rarely is preferable unless they are a first rounder and the best we have. Hopefully we have better options at this point.

I think you are giving Fua entirely too much credit. It is very rare for a rookie DT to be able to hold his own as a starter week 1. Drafting two mid round DTs didn't solve what is probably weakest part of our team (outside of the QB play).

thats how i learned how to swim, i jumped off the diving board into 9 feet of water in the 2nd grade. when i realized what the hell i did, it was swim or sink so i start kicking my feet. but with this team i do only see 2 rookies starting with Fua being one.

how is saying he will start giving him to much credit? compared to who played DT last season, he could easily come into here and start. yes we will see some FA coming into here, but even from week 1 i can see him winning the NT spot. being an effective 2 down NT. and Terrence Knighton says hi.

that maybe 1 person but drafted out of Temple in the 3rd round many people just automatically thought rotational guy. he started all 16 games his freshmen year.

Don't even know if Fua as a rookie DT will be an improvement, could be a lateral move. Rookie DTs usually ain't ready week 1. We need signicantly improved play immediately.

Glad it worked out for you. For every person who learns to swim, 5 have to rescued and become tramatized to the point they are phobic about water.

I hope he is really good enough to start for us at nose tackle. That would suggest he was a great draft choice for us. But maybe it is me, but what rookie defensive linemen has started for us besides Jenkins in 2001 and Peppers in 2002 in the last decade. I suspect there is one but outside of the first round they are rare. Jenkins was a second rounder but I don't know of a third rounder linemen who has.

Speaking of third rounders, I wonder if Irvin will be in the mix at nose tackle. It is do or die time for him at this point.
