DeAngelo Williams stays in Carolina 5 years 43 mil 21 guaranteed

Actually calming a bit.

Structure of the deal means a LOT.

Probably more of a 3 year deal.

Keep in mind we are saving a poo ton on rookies b/c of new CBA.

I'll admit it's steep, and I think we are overcompensating for sitting on our hands last year - JR wants to make a point. But DLo is a guy I WANT on our team, and I want him to retire a Panther.

That being said, I don't mind it being a 4 year deal... Especially if it's more heavy on the back end... That way we could sign some more FAs outside of our own guys (Joseph).

couldn't have put it better myself

Of course you couldn't, that's why I get a check in the mail for being here every month and nobody knows your name.

The Jake Delhomme prinicple? Not a fan of tossing extra cash or letting guys hang around when it makes the most sense to part.....b/c they are good dudes....normally those are bad moves in the NFL

Jake Delhomme and DWill aren't even in the same situation.

Die.

plus we still had mega amounts of room and the cap is a soft cap with extra wiggle room made available for vets with 5+ years of experience.

no reason for a meltdown.

it's a solid move and a good investment in the team for the next couple years. rookie QB needs to have a massive run game and thats what we have.

On par with MJD's contract. Considering he played for peanuts the previous couple of seasons and is easily a top 5 RB, it's fair.

EDIT: Also, just think how much SF (Gore) and Tenn (CJ2K) are going to have to pay for their new deals thanks to this deal.

And for everyone that is ill over not going out and signing every big name player from another team. I'm fairly certain the Packers and Steelers were both top 5 in number of players on roster that were drafted by said teams. We were also.

Perhaaaaps, thats the way to build a winner.

If you don't like it go cheer for the Redskins.

Overpaying aging players b/c they are extremely likeable is similar. Williams ain't worth that money at this stage in career unless you were very desperate at RB. Richardson has always overpaid and kept the "good" Panther players late in their careers.......almost always it has hurt us.

I can have a difference of opinion and at the same time not feel the need to throw random insults at you.....how crazy is that. No need for you to try though......

    • Exactly. How would a chip in the ball know when a player was down? That element will absolutely still be a referee determination.
