Not a true core player. Can be replaced easily.

Did u see him make excellent sound tackle after tavkle, with crazy fast closing speed he's needed back to deal wit our division and schedule. I think he needs to be a core player if we want to become elite for a few years we need to let some players grow together

Im surprised that we really haven't heard anything about Smitty.

This has me thinking he's staying there's is not one word on him from any source.

Smitty isn't going anywhere, whether he likes it or not. He's more valuable to us than any return we'd get for him in a trade. Makes no sense.

As for James Anderson being easily replaced.. by who?? were you not watching the guy last year? Sure he's stiff in coverage but the guys a beast in run support. Now if we could just get some competent DT's we'd be set on defense.

If Kasay is gone this is not good news for smitty.

I know the two were close, but fortunately for us the ball is really in the Panthers court, not Smitty's. It's not like he is an unrestricted free agent. If he goes, it's because the FO thinks it was the right move to make, not because he pissed and moaned about it and forced his way out.

I think Smitty is waiting to see what we do in free agency before he makes a decision. So far so good, we just need to land a WR that he knows will open the field up a little. I am telling myself this so I do not begin to cry.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
