Who will be our third qb?

I still don't understand why we're not more interested in Volek than we seem to be. He's a perfect fit. I love the idea of bringing Jake back as well, as a mentor to Cam/Jimmy, but as far as a vet who could step in and start and play relatively well? Volek is the best choice easily.

If Fox were still here, I think Jake would be an outside possibility. With the new staff, QB situation, etc. I just don't see JR bringing him back. Jake is ancient history. Plus, can Jake really start in this league again? He may want to retire. He would probably make a good coach some day. This franchise is moving on and becoming younger at QB.

That said, the fact that Moore is out, makes it pretty clear they do want to bring in a vet. I can't speculate as to who it might be...but I think the org. needs to decide what qualities they would want in a vet QB. Here are some ideas:

leadership and the ability to mentor younger players

proven skill and past success, a winner

can start week one if necessary

can play 16 games if necessary

doesn't mind being #2 when the time is right for Cam to step up

Who best fits these qualities, is available, and for the right price?

    • Alright. I think the Charlotte Hornets are officially at capacity with the current number of white players on the roster. 20240912_221847_1.mp4
    • The Miller trade is for a 2026 first round pick. (Not sure if Dallas or Canes own)
    • right?  they have a choice to to choose to make absurd money playing a game.  a team has the right to protect themselves if the highly paid athletes like to dabble in say motocross in the offseason and to discourage that type activity.  I mean, Mahomes can still go play pickup ball all offseason.   He doesn't go to jail or get cut.  But if he gets hurt.....it impacts his money.   So he is discouraged from doing it....which IMO makes total sense.   XL is basically a bona fide country kid with money.  That means ATVs, horses, and all sorts of fun.   I think the Panthers should discourage his risky fun.....just like with anyone else.  ATV accidents happen all the time.  You know why XL was so eager to help and was helpful? Because is clearly an ATV guy.  Our hero didn't stumble across some stranger stuck.  They were messing around as country folks do.
