Diggs restructured, 3 others get increases

That's because people are stupid. They think that, because the Panthers aren't publicly announcing their intentions everyday, or that because they aren't pursuing every big name FA that comes along, that they aren't working.

Conspiracy theories are always born when there is a lack of information. People don't actually know what's going on, so they just make stuff up and call it the truth.

That's true, except for Aliens. We all know they are real and the government is covering up the truth... ;)

The Carolina Panthers created some salary cap room by extending and restructuring the contract of linebacker Na'il Diggs, which helped offset a combined cap growth of $2.8 million to the 2009 base salaries of running back Jonathan Stewart, linebacker Thomas Davis and defensive end Tyler Brayton due to contract accelerators they earned last season, according to NFL Players Association documents.

I could possibly see Deangelo getting pretty pissed, Dwill deserved a raise.

Just thought the above bolded would help you understand the situation a bit better. The keyword being "earned". They didn't get a raise so much as they earned a bonus. Most, or all, contracts have this.

He needs to be working on getting Peppers traded.

Maybe you should tell Hurney that, you know, in case he hasn't noticed that $17 million gorilla in the room.
ummmm....not a thing he can and should be doing regarding that.

he isn't allowed to.

move along.

What a good guy. Is it possible to be too nice?

Just imagine his contract if he has another season like last years, can we afford to keep him, Marshall, Beason and Davis? If he has another season like last year he would become a top 10 maybe top 5 paid rb if not higher. He might be too nice and give us a discount.

Are you being sarcastic or serious? Restructuring a contract doesn't cost a player anything. In fact, it results in their getting more $$ up front. The team usually converts bonuses or salary to spread the cap hit in a restructure...that's all.

I don't think they were talking about restructuring but renegotiating his contract and giving him a pay raise.
