Don't trade for Asante, if we trade, let's get Leon Hall!

They haven't exactly extended him yet, and he will be a free agent in 2013. Perhaps they wouldn't mind trading him for some picks.

How bout no Scotty....

I don't think the Bengals want to get rid of the only good corner they have left.

This is not Madden.

This is also a pass-orientated leauge, so therefor stopping the pass is a huge priority.

PLUS, we have used a lot of picks as trade tools already this year.

Wouldn't want to trade anything above a 3rd for him...

I would normally agree with not giving up draft picks, but because we've re-signed a lot of core guys for years to come, I think we can suffer some rookies coming out of college. (At least for next year, and perhaps the year after)

The only pick I'm aware of that we traded away is our third to chicago. (Of course, that one is most recent. Someone feel free to fill me in if there are others)

Will the Bengals give up Leon? That is a good question. The truth is no one really knows, but for the right price, maybe so. All I know is, if we can't get Cromartie, Leon is our only hope at establishing the right side of our secondary. I don't expect Hogan to step in and fill the void.

Yes, a third.

Do you want to spend anything higher that that on Hall?

The Bengals probably won't take a fourth or lower.

I would give up a 1st or 2nd in 2013 as well as another pick in 2012. (and perhaps give them one of our young corners)

The Bengals have no reason for shopping their best defensive player. Even if they were, they would demand high pick/s and Hall would command a lot of money.

We dont need to heavily invest in corner to fill the need.

If we were to get him, I wouldn't suspect he would command any more than 6-7 million a year. I don't know if we have the cap space after all our recent signings, but once we give Kalil an extension, that may help in relieving the cap. Now I'm saying all of these things as an idea, that if we were to trade for anyone, it shouldn't be Asante. If we trade, let's go for a younger player with way more potential.

Joesph just got nearly 10 million a year, and Hall is better then him.

Giving up a first rounder and 10 million a year is just to much when we already have one pretty good cb in Gamble.

lol

Bengals just suffered Palmer's retirement, Chad's exit based on that he refuses to play on the team without a good QB, and Joseph walking away with no contract extension to help the texans rank 2 spots higher in passing defense. They probably have zero interest in trading Leon Hall because he's one of like 3 talented players they have left and there are still cornerback options which, Cromartie and Chris Carr are still in the market.

trading away 1s and 2s are what got us in trouble in the first place in recent years, and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the trade we pulled off for Olsen, but that's enough as far as trading higher picks go, we should quit while we're ahead of the game, and getting a former first round pick that has proven his worth as a first round pick for a third rounder is ahead of the game.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
