Derek Anderson? (Per ESPN's Clayton)

Guys Derek Anderson isn't even mentioned on Clayton's page.

Secondly, Clayton is ancient and doesn't understand how to reply back to tweets, and has yet to discover or explore the "mentions" tab... So, he prolly hasn't even seen the question in question.

Summary: Derek Anderson is not coming here. And John Clayton knows nothing about it either.

But his name is John...

Like I said, if they're going the vet route that can't contribute much on the field, might as well get one from our own Coryell system.

My issue with Anderson as a vet on our team is that he has never shown to be a mentor & has a bad attitude (recall last year's meltdown in Arizona when he was laughing while his team was getting embarrassed with him at the helm).

Hopefully this hasn't happened yet & doesn't. Bulgar or Delhomme would be 5x's better. We don't need only a guy who can step in if our starter is hurt...we primarily need a mentor for our young QBs.

You might be dissapointed on 9/11.

No more likely than you being disappointed.

With the shortened offseason and Newton not being experienced in a pro-style offense, I just see Rivera going this route. I may very well be wrong, but I really believe this is how it will play out.

I have been very impressed with Cam's attitude, work ethic, and potential. I think his upside is there and that he will work his ass off to bring that potential into success. But, I also think that he is not currently ready to take the reigns.

With the weapons on offense and defense...a coach who knows how to develop a premier defense...this team could compete now with a vet QB at the helm.

Cam very well may be able to lead this team to success this season, but the chances of that are much less than a vet will.

Just my opinion....only time will tell what Rivera will do.

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
