Pugh is a coverage safety and will be best to be paired with a non-coverage safety in Godfrey. Martin and Pugh are FS where Godfrey is a SS. Martin would be our best CB option out of our defensive backfield to be the #2 CB. CB is harder than playing Safety so it's best to have the best option there in our situation if we don't get Rogers or anyone else (the choices out there are next to zero after Rogers).

Godfrey hasn't shown to be decent FS or SS. Godfrey is a hard hitter yet at the same time horrible tackler. If he gets there when the ball does he is decent.....if someone has the ball he looks like a punter trying to make the tackle

Martin too slow to be a CB, Godfrey is much faster and IMO can be very physical at the line of scrimmage given his size

Isn't this the ultimate game of chicken. Guy wants a big payday, nobody's throwing it at him, some tease visits with teams, and then there has to be a point where a team in need (Carolina) makes a play for a guy at the 11th hour with still enough time to get him in camp, where at the same time the player realizes that a contract is better than no contract.

As a WVU fan, I was very excited when we drafted Brandon Hogan. It looks like he won't be ready until late in the season, or maybe even next year, but he does have the ability to fit the bill at CB. I just hope once he gets healthy, he stays healthy. I also hope he keeps his head on straight, as he found some trouble and missed some games due to suspension at WVU. Very talented kid tho.

We already have Captain who can play. Problem with the two of them is they are both midgets. We need a Corner who can defend someone taller than 6 feet.

Anything over, say, a total of $15 mil for 3 years for a 30 year ,old hands o' stone CB would be a rash mistake that would have long term negative effects on the franchise.

Overspending out of immediate need is the quickest way to everlasting mediocrity.
