QB starter per Lombardi

DA's accuracy? Is it worse than CAM's accuracy issues? I'd imagine DA would have a huge advantage since he did ride Chud's system to a pro bowl appearance. I'd say his experience within the system is huge compared to a guy who is taking is first practice snaps in the NFL and has never played a down in a real game yet.

I would imagine, barring injury, DA will start the whole season unless we go 1-7 in the first half of the season. It would be best for Cam to watch and learn. We saw first hand what throwing a young player to the wolves can do last season with Jimmy. Why do it if we don't have to. Nobody can realistically expect us to make the playoffs this year anyway so why not use up DA this year to show Cam how the system is run.

I'm all for DA running the show for a season. Who knows, he could go all "Kurt Warner" on our ass and take us to a superbowl. Wasn't Warner supposed to just be a teacher and groom the next great thing in Arizona?

LOL!!!

Derek Anderson being compared to Kurt Warner... I've heard it all now. Warner was brought into be a mentor, but he was thought to be a once great QB who was past his prime. Anderson on the other hand just plain sucks.

Cam and Jimmy will most likely get most playing time during preseason to determine starter. If Cam doesn't get it I start Jimmy over Anderson for the season opener, it seems that Jimmy has been working hard on improving and have read/heard positive on him getting better. Let's compare Jimmy to Anderson, all of Andersons seasons but two (barely two) have held more interceptions then touchdowns and even in his best year achieving 29 TD's he still threw 19 interceptions.

Now Jimmy came into the NFL to serve as the backup to Moore, and probably never got the proper coaching as a starter, and then when he is supposed to be developing and watching Moore to learn he is rushed into the starting position because of bad play on Moore's part. So let's review, Jimmy wasn't taught properly during TC in all likely hood, had decent preseason, entered and was told the entire time he was to be the backup for Moore, and then pushed into the starting position. He all saw where that led.

Who do you start if Cam isn't deemed as ready? Jimmy. Every, single, time. Unless of course Anderson pulls off a miracle and preforms really well during the preseason. And I guess if Jimmy proves to be complete butt. However, right now I start Jimmy over Anderson.

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
