Official Panthers/Broncos Tailgate Thread

Recommended Posts

This Sunday the Panthers take on the Broncos at 4 pm. Tailgating will start much earlier. Our food and non-alcoholic drink is provided FREE of charge with Toys for Tots donation buckets present. 100% of donations go directly to purchase bikes for this week’s drive at the stadium. Our free tailgate food is prepared by Ranucci’s Big Butt BBQ (www.ranuccis.com) and the menu will be posted later in the week so check back for details. There will also be a limited Bojangles biscuit breakfast while it lasts for the early risers with biscuits, fresh made sausage, country ham, eggs, and cheese. There will be plenty of waters and assorted sodas to drink for free as well.

This week’s tailgate is sponsored by Shinner and pstall. Please be sure to thank them this week for their generosity because they make your gameday easier without having to plan/buy/cook/wash/cleanup/load your car/burn your food/etc. All you have to do is show up and enjoy good food.

Sadly this week concludes our regular season tailgating and hopefully there will be at least one playoff tailgate but as of now there are no guarantees. The presentation of the bikes to the Marine Corps will take place at 12:45 at the north gate. Thanks so much to all of you who have donated. We have raised over $5000 so far and have exceeded last year’s cash total.

Here’s the usual info:

Tailgating FAQ’s

1. Where do you guys tailgate? A group of 100+ people on the Huddle congregate at a lot that borders Church St., Poplar St., and 3rd St. downtown. Our group is at the corner of 3rd and Poplar RIGHT BESIDE THE LOWER LOT GATE. If you come to the lower entrance gate on the sidewalk you cannot miss us. We are always in the spot BESIDE that gate. We have a big 3X9 banner attached to our tent facing 3rd street that says carolinahuddle.com with big Panthers eyes.

2. How much does it cost? If you park in that lot, it costs $30 and it’s only 3 blocks from the stadium. But you don’t have to park in the lot to tailgate with us. You can easily drive back a few blocks from there and park for $5 or $10 and just walk up. Another popular option is to take the train into town for a few bucks.

3. What’s at this tailgating spot? Food and people, how many depends on how many show up. We have 4 tents for cover if it rains and for shade. All the condiments, plates, napkins, and plastic silverware will be there as well.

4. What do I need to bring? If you drink alcohol you need to bring your own as well as a donation to Toys for Tots. We never provide alcohol due to liability issues. Everything else is free (food and non-alcoholic drinks). If you bring a cooler make sure it has ice in it because ice is always in tight supply on gameday. We’ll be glad to store your cooler in our cars during the game but we’re not responsible for it if it gets stolen or if a beer comes up missing during handling.

5. You expect me to believe that you post free food and drinks on a message board and you’ll feed and quench the thirst of everyone that shows up? Yep, no problem, we've been doing this for almost 5 years now. Thousands of meals have been provided free and we welcome all. Some of us just love doing this kind of stuff and have fun doing it. Hopefully everyone that comes has a good time. Remember that this is for charity and that our sponsors have donated their money so that the beneficiaries (you) will donate money to our cause (Toys for Tots) and help needy families this upcoming holiday season.

6. What time do you start? This week we will start at 8 AM.

7. Is anyone welcome? Absolutely! Everyone is welcome even opposing fans.

8. Is it appropriate for kids to come to this? Kids are always welcome but parents should use their own judgment in bringing them. We are not responsible for what they may see or hear and we do not police adult behavior before football games.

I came down for the Tamp Bay beat down, and the tailgate was AWESOME as usual. Zod's cider was like a warm taste of christmas. The Whole pig was ridiculously good. Ranucci is the man. I'm gonna try to come down for this game as well. If I can't make it you guys have a blast. This is the most fun tailgate ever. The Huddle rocks.

    • Good game so far.  Solid trench battles, two young well built defenses, and my 2 fave coaches.  Stafford is really damn good.  SEA OL is overperforming.
    • Okay then. To me that means Russell Wilson was Coryell. Because I see the proposition completely in the Russell Wilson punt/pass put it up for grabs mold. Count on the receiver to catch it or knock it down.    And the reason I thought that was the intent with Legette is the abysmal downfield game from 2023. As in, there was barely any.   I look at it as if… the result of a deep attempt isn’t as important as the opponent understanding they have to defend it. So I was all for some 50/50s. Coryell, Walsh whoever.  I do favor the Coryell approach personally but also very much value versatility, it doesn’t have to be strict. Just make the defense defend the whole field, however you do it. It has to include downfield throws.
    • Sold, or in the process of being sold. Could be either way. Consider this for a second... Last season, our defensive coordinator steered what many have called the worst defense in NFL history.  Canales would absolutely have been justified in firing him, and no one would have blamed him if he had.  But what did he do? He gave Evero another chance to come back and prove he could be better. Does that tell us something about Canales? I think it does. Now apply that to Bryce 😕
