Thank You John Kasay- you will be missed by us more than you know - You were always Mr Automatic for us and always a player who the rest of the team as well as Panthers fans, could be proud of, admire, and try to emulate.

I have many fond memories of you stepping up and using your talent to win a closely contested game for us.

May God bless you and your family's future endeavors where ever thay may lead you.

All the Best to you and yours.

A Panthers Fan

do you think he requested the letters to be crooked and unreadable? maybe it's cryptic for " i no longer vision gooder ". great guy though, number retired, hof, etc

I was going to respond most wittily to this, but I've drunk a whole bottle of wine and don't give a fug.

I'm not that big a fan of retiring numbers. Though it wouldn't surprise me if Jackie Miles held off on issuing the number 4 jersey the same way he held off issuing number 51 all those years.

The statue though? Yeah, I favor that idea. And I'd suggest this as the ideal pose for it:

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
