MESSENGER:

The Mercury Surface, Space Environment, Geochemistry and Ranging (MESSENGER) craft took flight five years ago and in 2011 will become the first probe to orbit Mercury. The closest planet to the sun, Mercury is difficult to study from Earth, and before the first of MESSENGER's flybys of the planet, less than half of its surface had even been photographed. Those flybys are already providing clues to some of Mercury's mysteries by measuring the planet's magnetic field, assessing its chemical composition, and mapping its pockmarked surface in three dimensions.

NEW HORIZONS:

The New Horizons probe, launched by NASA in 2006, is on its way to humankind's first close-up encounter with Pluto. To reach its distant destination, New Horizons left Earth at blinding speed, passing lunar distance in about nine hours and reaching Jupiter in just over a year. The probe should reach Pluto in 2015, and then may head into deeper reaches of the solar system, investigating the Kuiper Belt, the icy debris field where Pluto resides.

    • That zone was so soft that 3 guys were bearly on the screen. No rushing called. Playing off the line 10+ yards. Yeah that's garbage time. It took an onsides kick to make them try to play D again. Until then they didn't care and still wouldn't play real D against Young until they absolutely had to and that was with backups in the backfield. Slow start is freaking hilarious. He was gifted the lowest effort a bad team can give and still couldn't put anything together for 1 freaking series at the end after 2 quarters of warmup ball. It was like watching someone stretching for an hour and then pull a hammy after 10 feet of running.
    • On the subject of Reich and him being no good as a coach, because he wouldn’t change everything he did to accommodate Young. He wanted to sit Young. He knew what Young was.  But to the point, was Andrew Luck a good QB under Reich in Indy? Most people don’t hesitate to say yes. Well, Luck thought enough of his coaching to bring him to Stanford.  There is a bona fide NFL QB that seems to dispute the painting of Reich as a incompetent and the reason for Young’s shortcomings.  Yes he got fired. It appears as if Tepper and Fitterer forced a QB he did not want on him and poisoned the well right from the start. I don’t blame Reich one bit for being pissed either.  And I wasn’t a Reich guy I wanted Wilks. I accepted the Reich hire but never lobbied for him.  Just saying he is being dogged here unfairly.
    • I think its a mix of both. Bryce being too small and offense is too vanilla. Plays arent creative enough. Most are slants, fades and runs. But even Baker and Sam had to deal with vanilla offense and looked horrid. Thats why I say it's a mix of both.
