Jimmy Vs Cam needs to stop please

I have been watching a lot of you guys talk in these threads and all and I understand. But what I dont like is how all these conversations keep coming up about who is better then someone. Its always Cam is better then Jimmy, Jimmy is better then Cam. What Cam did in college, what Jimmy Did last year. " IT Doesnt Matter Anymore". Its a new year new system and new coaches. Like Come on they both are in the same boat. This is a new offense that they both had to learn and you guys need to stop with the practice tweets because every pass Cam or Jimmy makes or misses gets blown out of proportion.Its practice an opportunity for our overall team to get better. So you think that Jimmy or Cam is going to make all there throws, so you think they wont never throw and pick. If you really feel like this then you must be crazy. You guys really need to chill if you dont you might be very disappointed this season.

If I were you guys you should be happy about the competition that these guys are giving to each other. If they both do good its a win, win situation. But you also have to realize that one day Cam will be the future of our team. And me personaly i really want him to turnout good. Like I said before and i will say it again. He needs to improve on his passing because the better passer he becomes the more dominant he can be. But you got to understand he is a rookie and dont expect a lot out of him this season. He needs to focus on getting better as been an NFL Pro QB. But if we have to force our hand on him this season we may more then likely do. He needs to focus on what his task at hand is.

* Focus on what his offense is suppose to do.

* Know his reads and make safe throws.

* If nobody is open throw the ball away or scramble.

* Make Oline protection calls.

* know the basic defensive package of opposing teams.

Wouldn't hold my breath on the board argument stopping anytime soon.

Just the opposite honestly. If Clausen looks decent and Newton looks like a rookie (which he is) then that debate might actually get hotter.

The good part: Internet debates have no bearing on reality.

If Jake Delhomme did that....we would have missed both 2 NFCCG and a Superbowl appearance.......Smitty would also not be regarded as one of the league's best (or at least was).

Sometimes gambling ain't bad. Cam probably needs to do less and Clausen a lot more.

Maybe it's time to start being fans again and stop playing coaches, and let the coach do their jobs. Cam nor Clausen aren't robots. They aren't going to be perfect. They both have strengths and weakness. It shouldn't be about trying to burn them out trying to please our unrealistic mindset but minimizing their flaws and maximazing their strengths. And may the QB who can bring u more wins win cause that is the bottom-line.

    • The problem with these summary stats and rankings is that they flatten out progression and assume an even performance throughout the year. His first 3 or 4 games of the season don't really tell you anything about his current level of capacity but more about where he started and what his floor was last year. Given his last several games were against playoff teams, that gives you an idea of his current ability coming into the season. But it will serve more as a floor than a ceiling given the upgrade in talent on offense. And a better defense should give us more stops which results in shorter fields and more opportunities. And going into his third year there is no reason to suspect he will regress. His success wasn't  based on being superhuman but being smart and taking what was the defense was giving him. Distributing to the other guys not trying to do it on his own. He was great at the end when pressured and consistently moved the ball. That makes him a great game manager which is what we need. Something that is easier to do and relies on everyone else rather than having to be a top physical specimen or do it on his own. No one can predict the future but to say we haven't improved much is crazy given just having the Browns anchoring the defensive line will shut down the run and make sure QBs won't be stepping up in the pocket.  Assuming Evero got the message to can the prevent defense and bend until you break philosophy.
