Our DT are not ready

some decent options out there......that have no interest in playing in the preseason. hopefully we can get one next week or so.

I hope you are right. I don't think it was the worse thing in the world to wait and see what the young guys at DT have, but the results have not been good by any stretch of the imagination.

I think it is ridiculous to say after 3 preseason games that McClain and Fua can't play, but they are obviously not ready to be starters at this point.

It's hard to spreculate exactly how much Ron Edwards would have helped, but it is beyond frustrating that the team has not fixed this problem over the past 3 years.

Even at DE, I think the team needs to be potentially add someone. I am comfortable starting Johnson and Hardy, but Norwood and Brown are basically the same guy (pass-rush only) and not equipped to be an every down type players. And unfortunately, neither one has shown enough so far as a pass rusher only. Charles Johnson is going to get double-teamed every down as bad as the rest of the line has been so far.

On the O-Line, there really isn't a good alternative on the right side if Schwartz and Otah can't go. It's hard to believe that one or both of them aren't going to miss significant time in the season. RG is a dumpster fire right now. Bernardeau and Duke Robinson are garbage.

I think another frustrating thing about this team is that we have some top end talent (CJ, Beason, TD, Otah, Gross, Kalil, Smitty), but then we have a major drop-off to some of the other guys.

I don't know if we overpaid so much for the guys we kept (I mean, at 2-14 you've got to give a guy incentive to sign), but depth is a big-time concern at every position outside of LB and TE.

Gettis getting hurt sucks- he could at least get open deep. LaFell, Naanee, and Armanti have not shown anything to make you believe they can be a legitimate #2.

I guess the longer I type, the more issues I realize this team has. I haven't ever mentioned QB b/c this is a learning year for Cam, but this team has a lot of issues.

Maybe not Detroit a few years ago issues, but certainly enough that 5-6 wins looks like the ceiling right now.

And I say this as a proud PSL owner who will be at every game

    • Ppl want to trade Melo? Am I wrong for thinking that would be a bad idea?
    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
    • It's an interesting topic of conversation as sports evolves. I think ultimately it would lead to a number of small market franchises folding though. Especially in the NBA where there are so many bad teams that have been bad for years and years in some cases already. But as it stands I think athlete pay draft or no draft aside has reached a point where we can and should realistically ask should they make that much compared to the average person. Now college athletes is a different conversation but even that reaches a breaking point. But we could go down the rabbit hole on this even further into overall entertainment and talk about actors making absurd sums too. In the end I think in sports the powers that be won't allow these changes to even be considered because it opens the door for so many other variables. But who knows how long sports like football will realistically be around after people like us pass on. We're only just now learning about things like CTE which the league and the sport in general will only be able to run away from for so long. As far as the NBA goes my understanding is viewership has been steadily going down for a number of reasons but one crucial aspect is key players missing so many games. The NBA has to figure that out regardless. Especially when considering fans who pay to see these athletes compete in person. But hey I guess let's just try to appreciate what we've got while it still exists in this form eh?
