A QB Comparison

Absurd... yes, he was planting beautifully when he was throwing into the stands or throwing into the arm reach of the defending linemen. But his footwork was stellar.

Does Cam's footwork need some improvement? Yes.

Is it typical for for a rookie who is under pressure to throw off his back foot when a DE is about to pull his arm out of socket? Yes.

Is it "omghorriblebust!!"? No.

You all are making way too much of this preseason. But, go ahead... enjoy it while you can. There's no point in continuing this argument.

That's what was said last year and the year before. Do you remember that? And besides, didn't you start this thread comparing a rookie to a rising star QB in the league? C'mon man.

So basically, Newton is getting more pressure (twice as many sacks in one less game), is making less mistakes (no ints) but still playing comparatively to a rookie performance of a guy who is now an established starter in our division,

Can we calm down now?

To be honest, no QB is impressive enough to start. I think Derek Anderson will be the starter, its against his old team and he knows the offense better and know how to Pace himself and the guys around him.:patriot:

How did Freeman's rookie campaign go? Hmm seems it was the second year he improved in... so why rush Cam?

This is no argument for him starting this year, plus Cam was picked #1 and Freeman #17. You don't draft projects at #1.

I think Peyton Manning started his rookie year and went 3-13...year 2 he went 13-3 I believe. Every rookie is a project no matter the draft position.

:yesnod:

Every rookie is a project no matter the position they are drafted for.

Oh, and Ocho... if you'd bother to read the posts in this thread, you'd see I've stated I don't care if Newton starts. If you look at my posts since preseason started, you'd see the same. I'd be fine with Anderson or Clausen starting.

However, I fully believe he is going to be the starter anyhow.

Well, I'm too lazy to sit here and read all these threads and pages, so I'd rather go to the source.

Perhaps true, but there are varying levels of preparedness based on the strengths of that player etc. Not all rookies come in at the same exact place, but they do all have things they need to work on. Manning's record is completely irrelevant, just like poor performances by past busts would be completely irrelevant.

Same poo different day.

More people are realizing Cam isn't as advertised and are coming around to the idea of sitting him.

The only problem is the FO didn't give us another viable option at starter.

They have come up with a plethora of excuses and defenses for Cam.

People wouldn't trade Cam for Tom Brady, Manning, Rodgers, anyone.

We still need a DT and corner.

That's about it.

Nice, why don't won't people to see Cam start?
