Take the Cam Newton pledge...

Woah man, I was going in solo on this and nowhere did I infer or call out another poster. Someone is extremely touchy...sheesh.

FYI, The reason I bolded that is stating that I back the team and not individual players moreso than others; the reason such a single player pledge is asinine.

Ah then my apologies and much pie for you :D

Outside observers can suck it. And Why the hell do you care what anyone outside the Panthers fan base thinks anyway?

As for as us posters saying we are better, well many are. I will try this again was matt millen worth a poo as a GM? Was Marv Levy? I can go on and on and on, but as others have stated just because you work your way through the good ol boy network, it doesn't mean you are really worth a poo.

Was Rich Kotite (sp) a good HC? Again, just because you got into a position doesn't mean you are worth a damn. So lets drop that bull poo already ok?

By outside observers I mean people who read the board and don't post.

Just because there are people who are bad at what they do in every profession, doesn't mean that every Joe on the street can just step and do a better job. That would be like me saying that since a doctor fuged up a routine surgery once that I should take his job after I watched a couple of seasons of ER.

Hurney didn't just fug up one season. I would say that a person with a dart board with the draft choices on it and an amatuer with a dart could match this expert football knowledge posessed by this highly titled general manager's results. And in spite of the fact that he could quote more names and stats than most fans, his accomplishments scream idiot.

Go back and look at how many of our draft picks are starting for us right now. Compare that to every other team in the division and tell me how they stack up.

Hurney has made mistakes for sure but his ability to draft guys in the 1 round and again in later rounds is very good. As for the 2nd round, not so much.

I __Carolina006_________ do hereby pledge that Cam Newton has my full support as the Carolina Panthers starting quarterback. The fact that I did has no bearing on my decision to live in reality and realize Cam is the biggest hope for a franchise QB that we have ever had.

In addition, I realize Cam will at times struggle, and promise not to throw him under the bus at any given opportunity. I understand that Cam is here under a multi year plan, and not a 6 week plan.

By accepting this pledge, your Matt Moore pledge started by some knuckle head last season is null and void.

While I agree with you in principal, we have to remember we are fresh off of a 2-14 season. Let's say LaFell ends up as our second wideout. That doesn't necessarily provide a credit to Hurney as it is very possible he would not be starting for any other team in the division.

Just because we have a lot of picks starting for us, that doesn't signify that Marty has done a great job.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
