Cam has another person to prove wrong in Terry Bradshaw...

Cam Newton breaks a Terry Bradshaw record, per ESPN:

Cam Newton's 77-yard Pass TD is the longest by a No. 1 overall draft pick since the merger in 1970. The previous mark was 67 yards set by Terry Bradshaw in 1970. Only 4 of the 19 quarterbacks since the merger selected No. 1 overall threw a 50+ yard TD for their first career TD. Besides Bradshaw and Newton, the only others to do it are Troy Aikman and Drew Bledsoe.

Suck on that, Terry.

But still, I hope Cam's career ends up closer to Bradshaw's, or Aikman's, than Bledsoe's, lol.

Also, Terry Bradshaw never threw for over 400 yards in the regular season in his career....SO fug HIM!

Yep...play on a team with a NASTY defense...two phenomenal receivers....a fantastic run game.

Bradshaw IS one of the most over-rated QB's in the history of the NFL. He was the beneficiary of the team around him. He was NOT a QB that would have carried a team to greatness.

Not to mention that he is one dim bulb. Guy sounds like he has a sub 100 IQ.

Agree Bradshaw was never that great but was good on a great team. Also agree he isn't that bright. But in his defense, 50% of the population has a sub 100 IQ if the old bell shaped curve holds true.

terry bradshaw is one of the worst QB's in the history of football. He only has 2 TD's over his INT's.

This irks me. Go back and compare Bradshaws' stats to the other great QB's of that era. It was a completely different game then because WR's and QB's were allowed to be mauled on every play and there were no WCO's that racked up big stats by dinking and dunking you to death. These guys were throwing less and they were throwing lower percentage passes most of the time.

Having said that, I'm glad Bradshaw was wrong.

he sucks. He was super super trash for like 6 years. No one in this day and age would get 6 years of chances to not suck.

Well, he looked pretty darn good when I was watching him win superbowls, and his stats will easily stand up to any other QB of that era. You can't penalize a guy for playing under different rules. Nobody cared if the QB got hit hard back then and there was no 5yd rule for WR's either.

Bradshaw made a lot of key plays when needed. Don't really give a crap what Bradshaw thinks of Cam, but maybe everyone who thinks he sucks as a QB can pull up the QBs in the 70s who were completing 65% of their passes, throwing 30 TDs in an entirely different era/game like some seem to think he should have been. Bradshaw was exactly what the Steelers needed apparently, 4

Lombardis in 6 years has never even been close to being approached by any other team. I'd guess if Bradshaw didn't like the Aints so much the hater glasses wouldn't be so foggy.

Terry Bradshaw would lose in the special olympics. He has no reason to believe that other than blind hate based on some BS criteria with no weight to it.

Terry Bradshaw is from Louisiana. He didn't go to LSU (he was too dumb too get into LSU which is very hard to manage), but he is still an LSU fan. Cam kicked dat LSU azz last year.

Cam took their lunch money and made'em run home to Mama cryin'.

He stole their girlfriends and made'em like it.

That made Terry Bradshaw mad.

Obvious Auburn bandwagoner is obvious Auburn bandwagoner....

Yeah, I'm sure that Cam would have appreciated the "joke" for the "humor" in which it was intended.

Right?

Its not the Auburn "bandwagoners" that are the problem here... its the people who think that the same joke told by yet another person for the 100,000th time is "funny" that is the problem.

Come up with something original and maybe everybody will laugh. Until then, anyone who laughs at this joke after it has been tired and used for going on 10 months now is showing a (college) agenda of their own.

There's that too. Personally I remember the 1979 Super Bowl and my Rams being up late 19-17. That fugger Bradshaw brought the Steelers back and beat the Rams. Didn't like it, but respected what he did. Some will judge Bradshaw on his Fox pregame show antics. Not me.

Bradshaw is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, despite what some may think of his playing ability. Get a clue people.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
