Lucas still gonna get paid...

The Panthers’ release of Ken Lucas proves once again that a team’s treasure can soon turn into its trash. Lucas was one of the lucky few who hit the jackpot each year, receiving a top-of-the-market deal from the Panthers for $37M over six years, with an $8.4M bonus, in 2005. Lucas’s contract was then restructured for Cap purposes in every subsequent season – 2006, 2007 and 2008 – in order to lower his Cap number for that season (while raising it for future seasons). Now the Panthers have once again addressed Lucas’ contract, this time by terminating it (they tried to trade Lucas, but he refused to report to the one team that was interested, the Lions). Because of the stacked proration on his bonus, Lucas now exits the Panthers but leaves them with a Cap charge of $8.33M while he either plays for another team or not at all. …

before you start screaming that hurney is a moron....this kind of thing happens with every team who cuts a player before their contract expires. we still were able to save some money by cutting him but we aren't free and clear from having to pay him anything.

who else we owe money to that isn't a panther anymore?

I don't think he's a moron for that, or in general but the fact that they just kept restructuring a deal every year isn't the greatest either especially as they did that with Pep and Jake multiple times as well and it's put them in a tad bit of a quandary (though with Pep it doesn't seem that it could have been avoided).

you're right. not sure that pep's deal could have been prevented on our part. hurney did everything responsibly that he could have done regarding that.

no way would i want the job as a capologist. too easy to back load everything and stretch it out. sooner or later it's going to catch up with you.

i would like to look at the contracts the players have, though....just to see what kind of deals got worked out so we know when the big bucks are going to be happening.

where can you find that kind of info? you'd probably have to go back a few years to get a clear picture.

Shoot...bona fide 100% accurate info? Not sure. If you go to the USA today add'y here, you can see last few years though not the upcoming one (This is sorted by Panthers as a team, click the year and you get the individual):

http://content.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/salaries/teamresults.aspx?team=8

You can sort by position, team etc. Someone else may have a better link. P55 seems to be pretty sharp on the cap #s from what I recall..maybe he does.

    • That’s not funny. That’s people who watched Kenny Pickett play.
    • Rich people who collect Health are indeed a surprising type of leaders. It's so exciting to see it but I have no doubt that this is clear enough. Where can rookies scare up striking Health recipes? I'm working on it at this time. This would be friggin' stupid if it freaked out others. Take this information very seriously. I still hadn't found anyone to tell me with respect to this sticky situation.   https://groups.google.com/g/actiflow-prostate-health/c/3csTfO4T70g https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/5837affc-861d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/6f1364f6-861d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/k6H8LBL14zY https://groups.google.com/g/synogut-price/c/gk7Vuy_kDR0 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/590538e2-881d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/387bb1e3-881d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/lnNwUSvAjwk https://groups.google.com/g/kerassentials-cost/c/5SLLeAVxU74 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e1d45d45-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/a1266d43-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/gVH8Ltoz_4Q  https://groups.google.com/g/pineal-guardian-brain-support/c/DRkldCEbe3w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e24acabb-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/cecad6bd-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/dnrUDyelUG8 https://groups.google.com/g/gutoptim-review/c/NYvnYEUQV4w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/09b1fdad-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/9381c5ae-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/_LRPsonxaPk
