Who Cares About Wins

Stupid question about a game that's played to win and watched for the same. I really could care less about Newton throwing for 400 yards straight for 5 games, and 3 TD's, as impressive as it may be if we love every game.

Weird that 400 yards a game could get old hat without the wins, but I guess it could happen.

These loses don't feel like loses.

only thing that cost us those two games are mental errors made by a very young team learning the system and seed of the pro game. the talent is there. as these guys gain experience and get coached up, the mental errors will decrease the wins will come.

we just faced the toughest team on the schedule and could have won, even with the mistakes. that makes me feel good about the rest of the schedule and our chances of winning.

not sure why people would be getting so worked up over a young team so early in the season having easily correctable mistakes being the thing that cost them the two games they played.

this season they can be competitive. after that the sky is the limit. anyone thinking that we have peaked and this team won't or is unlikely to improve this season is pretty narrow minded.

The wins are going to come easier as we go. 2-2 is a very real possibility, I havent looked much past that on the schedule. The rest of the league is in for a rude awakening when this team gels just a little more, it could be scary....

I believe we are the youngest team in the NFL.

Tampa is the youngest, I believe we are #3...

I care about wins but I'm really excited because we are going to be one of those teams that we have only been able to dream about in the past. Our first official franchise quarterback. Wait until this kid has three seasons under his belt. I'm talking 16-0 eventually. Not this year. This is a learning year but I believe we do have a shot at the playoffs still. Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself but still very excited.

the main thing i wanted to see this year was growth. wins were gravy. i didn't expect to see many wins. i just expected this team to be able to stay competitive, make mistakes and learn from them. i wanted to see flashes of brilliance and glimpses of what we could expect as this team gains experience going forward.

wins would be nice, but so far i'm liking what i see. this team is going to be dominant in the future.

We are light years ahead of where any of us thought we'd be 6 months ago. We are just a couple plays away from being 2-0. The wins will come. The excitement is back. There is work to do but hope has returned. Something that's been missing.

Wrong. There were quite a few people who knew we would be there.

People such as yourself responded with " derp I'm just being a realist you silly homers"

Meanwhile, the true realists saw that when you fix the two things that caused a 2-14 year last year-you don't have those problems anymore.

I always laughed at the notion that just because you had a bad year last year, that the NFL kept you contractually obligated or something to only have marginal improvement the next year.

The old line, "stats are for losers" has some truth to it. If we had won, I could care less how many yards Cam threw for or how many yards he rushed for. It would have been a nice stat, but simply an afterthought. I think too many fans put way too much emphasis on stats, but a lot of it has to do with the "fantasy football" word we live in!

Still, the Panthers were suppose to do a lot worse than we did against both Arizona and Green Bay and that being said, we have every reason to be excited about our future.

I truly believe, once Cam "figures it out", our defense gets it's act together, and our run game shows up... we are going to be DANGEROUS!!!

Plus, the best thing I like about Cam is that even he isn't pleased! The guy isn't bragging about his stats, etc. He wants to win and win now. I really admire that.

Still, winning is winning and as boring as Fox was with piling up field goals and hardly running risky plays for big scores, we found a way to win games. As fun as it is to see Cam pick apart defenses here and there, and no longer having to rely on a field goal kicker to bail out a struggling offense EVERY game (ie: Kasey when he was here), the fact is we are 0-2 so far.

I do have a good feeling about next Sunday and I hope a win (hopefully) will put some confidence in this squad.

Be where...0-2? People who said 12 wins also have the mental capacity of a trilobite. I will stand by that statement.

We are still 0-2 but we are a better 0-2 team than expected.

I want to see wins, but those last two games had more promise than all of last season combined.

Cam has thrown for more than 1/2 of Jimmy Clausen's total yards last season. In two games! He has 5 total TD's, to Jimmy's 3 from last season. The Panther's are second in the league for passing yards, behind only TBrady.

So yeah I am excited, even though the games were losses.

And now we got Jacksonville coming up, so the win will happen.

I agree, as long as the Panther's win, that is all I care about. But the reality is that the Panther's lost last season BECAUSE they weren't putting up the stats. No offensive production leads to losses, almost guaranteed. I would rather have a loss with some hope and promise for success, than the sh!t show that was last year.
