You're talking about guys that bounced around in their early career and then in their later career. When they were good, they were with a team for a long while. Mare is at the end of his career, that's why he's been bounced around. Which is why we should of just kept Kasay if we were going that route.

BUT

They are all football players.......so I don't pretend when guys make football plays that they don't count. Like people saying Peppers was a nonfactor when he blocked a FG that would have given us a late lead. He is paid to play football NOT just rush the passer....which is way we always had him in to block kicks as well.

K is your last line of defense.....and Mare was called upon today. He made a play.

It got merged with another thread with a more serious title than my simple "Olindo Mare"... then it morphed into a "Mare missed a kick? errr, So did Kasay! Even!"

I've said multiple times my preference was to pick up a reliable kicker coming out of college. I appreciate what Kasay did while he was here, but honestly, I don't care what he's doing now. I wanted to replace him 5 years ago... Just not with a guy 3 years younger than him who can't even attempt 50 yarders without being embarrassed.

That would've been the better option. Get someone younger and better or just as equal. Not somone who is less of a kicker and about as old.
