Goodson Could Be Our Randall Cobb

Cobb is about 6th on GB arsenal of receivers. Goodson played slot and I believe given the opportunities to be involved in the offense he would do good there. He also wont have to continue taking shots from lineman and linebackers fumbling. I always looked at Goody as a slot more than a RB. I guess its just me. Cobb come in every now and then and just throws a defense off. Just another weapon

It probably is just you. You are suggesting he replace one of the two TEs? Or replace the 2nd WR? If Goodson is in there as the second WR, Smith will never get a ball thrown to him. He certainly can't come in during passing situations as a RB as no one trusts his blocking (this is why you see Stewart in there during obvious pass plays).

I'm suggesting he come in as slot when we spread it out lol

Who is our 3rd and 4th?

Lafell is the 3rd receiver and he is playing really well. The Panthers don't use a 4th receiver and rarely use a 3rd receiver. I've noticed Lafell did play as the 2nd receiver in the last game when Naanee needed a breather. Otherwise, it is usually 2 WRs and 2 TEs. And occasionally they will do a empty set with the RB in motion.

Btw, Goodson is in the dog house so any illusions they would use him in a offensive set are a bit off. He wasn't even active in the last game. No way at this point do the Panthers feel like he would be that much of a help to the offense that is performing quite well.

While returning or being a wide out?

BOTH lol

For those who dont know, Goody was scouted as a slot WR. For those who think he didn't do that in college. I said it when he came in time and time again, that's where he should get time at. Fox of course wasn't thinking that. Disagree with my choice of the man, WR is still a place we need to improve on. Chopping off Shockey is fine to me. Olsen can handle that by himself

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
