What penalties were because of discipline? It's funny people throw that word out there, yet do not even know what it means. And the penalty on Gamble was bogus anyways. I'm not even sure what he did other than let Roddy White grab his shoulder.

Agreed. This team lacks discipline & he does not 'show' passion when things go good or bad. Coach doesn't have to be rah rah, but with the lack of discipline it makes me a little concerned. The 49rs have a rookie coach who doesn't look or act like a rookie, but our rookie coach really does look like a rookie.

This. It's too early to say with any certainty, but the early returns on our new coaches are ugly. It's not just that our team sucks, we all knew that coming into the season. But with so many headscratching playcalls, oddly timed timeouts (or lack thereof), and the cascade of stupid penalties just screams incompetence.

Penalties are LOSING US GAMES. Its not like we are getting a holding penalty every now and then to lose some field position. We just got two PI penalties in the same half to put the Falcons on the 1 yard line and a guaranteed touchdown. How the hell do we have a safety in one on one coverage with Roddy White? Ron Rivera has not impressed me this year with his in-game coaching. From failed clock management to ST blunders to countless penalties to playcalling inside the 15 yard line. It has just been a clinic in ineptitude thus far. Pretty pathetic considering the play of our rookie QB...
