This team is not improved from last year's squad. The offense is much improved, the defense is much worse. As a team, collectively, we are no better.

Sure, we lost all these games by a score or less. But lets put that in perspective. 2 of those close losses were to very good teams...however...2 of them were to average teams, and 1 was to a below average team.

Injuries happen...Green Bay dealt with it last season, so we need to stop using that as a valid excuse. Bottom line...we are a bottom tier team this season.

We lost 2 of the best LB's in the game and a run stopping defensive tackle. This team is drastically better than last years. We just can't catch a break as usual because we are the Panthers.

We were having problems before Beason and Davis went down. That is not an excuse.

Hell yes it is an excuse. You see how many time those RB's get around the edge now? poo would not be happening if you had TD and Beason blowing their heads off.

It doesn't help that FO is so damn stubborn with the DT spot and thinks we can just throw garbage at the position and expect something to happen.

That was happening with them in there. What have you been watching?

Did you not watch the Arizona game? How about the Packers? Beason and Davis did not make a huge difference in those games. That Arizona games was our 1 loss to a below average team...Go figure.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
