Revis vs Gamble

i give revis credit for ONE thing, he claims smith to be HANDS DOWN the toughest receiver hes ever been asked to cover.

i live in new york and the jets have got to be the most overrated team these past few years. the jets have been 9-7 the past two years and somehow made it into the afc championship. people here in new york actually believe sanchez is a top quality quarterback (like philip rivers level of quality) and that revis is the best player in the nfl. its hilarious.

Ive been telling people for years, big players on big market teams get away with murder and we always get the shaft for being a small market them. They just chalk it up to envy and crazy conspiracy talks but the more i watch every year, the more im convinced games are rigged. That PI on gamble yesterday was absolute BS. Im surprised the huddle isnt saying more about it. Who was the 2nd PI on...Godfrey, Martin or Gamble?

the PI on godfrey was questionable... the ball was pretty much thrown out of bounds. PI isnt supposed to be called on uncatchable balls. godfrey gettin at the guys hands got him that penalty.

i must say the one on gamble was really iffy. its alright tho, with cam those calls will start coming our way.

It's because the Refs are all up on Revis' D Sack. If you go and watch some of his INTs, he either has safety help over the top or holding and pulling the WR that he doesn't get called for and they call him the best corner in the league....

This. Revis simply gets away with more than other CB. Instead of calling PI or holding they just say he was being physical.

    • I do think the rating is fair given how this unit hasn’t proven it with production. I understand you have to rank off production, not potential. However, our unit is also in a position to make this rating look foolish a year from now. We have 4 guys in the WR/TE room who all could legitimately take the next step this year, and catapult our rank. A guy under a lot of people’s radar after we took Tet, Jalen Coker. Mark my words, he will become the star of this room, and be the heir to Thielen.
    • Exactly. You’d think 2-7 wins a year (in a 17 game season no less) since 2017 is going to keep us bottom tier. Every year we say the same poo like we haven’t been a bad team the past 7 years. Until we prove we aren’t a bottom dweller, that’s where we’ll stay ranked. God forbid we have OL injuries like 2016.
    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
