If We Still Had Beason, Davis, and Edwards

The team is atleast 3-3 if not better.

Everyone is making posts about why we suck, those are three pretty big reasons right there.

Those three guys would have been at least enough to make a few huge plays to turn the tide in our favor during the close games. We would be a lot harder to run on too.

Hopefully atleast Beason and Edwards will be back next season and fully healed. Hopefully Otah can get a full offseason and be healthy all year (it will be his make or break year) hopefully we get Gettis back, and everyone is more comfortable with the system; including Cam.

Hopefully we get Hogan healthy, some nice high draft picks, a free agent or two. Maybe even shop DeAngelo? Keep Shockey. Add and develop our O-line Depth for Cam.

We just need some good wins at home to keep the team happy and breed a little bit of winning spirit this year. It will be a trial no doubt. It has been a trial.

Some say rough times harden a man... :jc:

I swear, the next person that mentions this crap is getting neg repped.

Yeah, it is tough to blame losses on injuries, even though it is, in our case, a huge reason why our defense sucks.

But like others have said, it comes down to coaching and game planning. Either our current back-ups really, really suck, or the coaches aren't doing their job. Rivera was supposed to be a defensive guy, who could work with so called "no names" and get them to work together and find a way to stop the opposing offense. I have not seen that happen, and I think we have good players on defense.

As far as Rivera's first year, it isn't looking good. Offense is doing well, much better than defense. You can cite the injuries, but in the NFL there are no excuses.

just think if the ravens didn't have ray lewis, ngata, and terrell suggs..yeah I don't they they would be the same either. You need your best players.

Thomas Davis coming off two ACL tears and Ron Edwards are now considered some of our best players?

Damn we're worse off than I thought.

Even if we had those guys our D would still be suspect. We need more PLAYMAKERS on defense. Guys who go out there and take the football. Guys who aint afraid to tackle. We just dont have enough guys who create problems defensively for the other team. Beason, Davis, and Edwards are good players for us, but we need more help on D even with those guys.

    • Yea when teams see a gun charge they rightly pause but this seems like a big misunderstanding.
    • Sorry man you lost me at "Teppers have evolved as owners". Limped into playoffs at 8-9 not even above .500 Tepper is trash as an owner bro and that's not even a discussion at this point. 37-83 w/l ratio. Nuff said.... Morgan tho, he's cooking and it ain't cuz of Teppers leadership
    • After listening to Morgan's presser twice, I came away with some key beliefs. First of all, I don't think he's a bullshitter. What you see is what you get. When he says something, he means it.  The Teppers really have evolved as owners. Morgan has mentioned how they're easy to work with--a pleasure to work with a few times now. There seems to be a good relationship between all of them (and include Dave Canales on that). We'll see if it lasts. Yes, no one wanted to come to Carolina with the previous management, but that seems to have changed. The team signed arguably the top Edge, LB and OT on the market, two of them on pretty good deals and one on what I'll say is "not a bad one." And, credit Sunshine Dave "Flowers and Cotton Candy" Canales for helping to change the culture. Morgan mentioned getting guys--and I'm paraphrasing--that are not only great football players but great people. Don't look for us to be acquiring any James Pearce types anytime soon, just saying. We'll see if that holds true in the future. Dan Morgan really has set up the Panthers to take the BPA/BAP. He mentioned it at least a couple of times, and he doesn't seem pressured to pinpoint a particular position. He just wants quality players that will help the team. This is how it's going to be (to your joy or dismay, probably for as long as he's here), and personally I love it. Many of us know how Morgan was when he played: aggressive! That's what he's going to be when making acquisitions. He explicitly said it, and emphasized it. All avenues are open (think FA, waivers...the draft)! Personally, as long as it's controlled aggression and not reckless aggression, I love it.  On KP: "Mobility is big in this league."  He basically says if another QB is the BPA while drafting--we're going by our board, people--we're going to add them.        ...
