Some fear Luck could make a power play

I actually think Manning pulled the right move. Lets say its Jacksonville with the 1st pick. Well you know that team is going to hell in a hand basket. You don't know if they will even stay in Jacksonville. If i could get out of that situation i would in a heart beat.

This is the NFL draft, not free agency. You don't get that choice.

I don't care how you spin this, anyone that does it is a total bitch. That includes Elway, Manning, etc.

Well most people would agree that teams picking #1 have many holes in their team (remember when people thought our only hole was QB, good times), so forcing a trade maybe the team picks up Jones, Barkley, Weedem(can't think of his actual name) and another first and second or something.

The team is still improving, it just doesn't get Luck. If Cam wasn't in the last draft and it was actually this class, how many of you wouldn't take Barkley, Jones, etc, another #1, and their #2 this year to move down 3 spots or so?

I sure as hell would if I was that bad.

You absolutely do get that choice. No one forces you to play in the NFL. The player could simply let the team know that he would rather play somewhere else and probably won't sign with them if they draft him, so he's doing them a favor. They can trade him and get compensation back in return instead of drafting him and him not signing.

No one has to play in the NFL, it's not like the draft for the army.

You guys are funny.

Not really the point though.

What if he's like, I ONLY WANT TO PLAY FOR THE 49ers! That pick now becomes untradable because you either pick him and he doesn't play, or you are forced to drop down to like the 20's range in the draft.

The players should never have a choice. The new CBA should have added a rule that states that.

If he comes out and limits the #1 picks option of teams to trade him to publicly, that's different than giving the team a heads up before the draft.

Again, it's his choice of employment. He has other options in his life, he's not one of these guys that has to play football or they will be in jail.

If players had the choice of where they want to play, teams like the Panthers among many others wouldn't exist because everyone would go to Dallas/NY/NE/etc.

So then don't declare for the draft and come in the league as an undrafted free agent.

Declaring for the draft and then saying that you're not going to honor a teams draft choice when you don't like it is in fact a bitch ass move.

Doesn't quite work like that. To enter the NFL you must go through a draft, either the regular April draft or the supplemental draft (if you qualify). You become a free agent and can pick where you want to play when A. your rookie contract is up, B. you are released from a team and pass through waivers, or C. you go undrafted.

This is the process all players must go through. If Mr. Luck think's he's special and shouldn't have to abide by the same rules as everyone else, then he should go put his degree to good use.

You don't get that choice. I'm a huge Luck fan but I would lose all respect for him if he pulled something like this.

It's a total bitch move and it spits in the face of the NFL. The draft is designed to give bad teams a chance to improve

He already did but people here still blow him

    • Such a dumb pick and most of us knew it Ladd would’ve been the perfect match with Bryce But instead they draft XL to fill the void at the X spot because we had a 34 year old Adam Thielen. Then a year later we draft a real X WR and move XL inside where he has absolutely no business being for a list of reasons
    • My logic was hopefully a new HC would have a LOT quicker hook for Bryce. But, that is assuming they would even be allowed. I guess that's a call to the owner's box for permission.
    • I’m not overly defending the pick. I was team Stroud by a country mile but I also knew what to expect as far as ceiling goes with Bryce  I had concerns with Bryce’s arm strength and size. Neither seem to overly be an issue. He’s proven to throw with enough anticipation that he makes up for a lack of velocity. I was worried about the way he played in college not translating to the league. Spending 8 seconds behind LOS. I did also think it would take Young a few years for him to reach his full potential. I also think he’s too smart and accurate to flat out bust which all of seems to be pretty accurate Bryce is someone you can absolutely win with. No one thought he’d be the type to carry a well below average supporting cast to a Super Bowl. He’s fully capable of giving you those 4-5 special plays a game that help your team win. And then you have those rare times where he’s the reason you win like in Atlanta.  All good teams have more than just a QB.  Even the teams that are winning this year all have a lot more than what we have. Supporting cast/defense… more than what we have  As far as Morgan goes I 100% agree. Fwiw he was legit team Bryce during the draft process. I know that for a fact. Last years draft is a complete write off. This past draft still up for debate. TMac and Scourton look solid. I can’t remember the last time I saw Princely win a rep and I’m being honest. Ransom has a little value. I think ETN is a nice insurance add. Evans could be a TE2.    I think this offseason Morgan will get aggressive with trying to land a pass rusher. Whether that’s a trade for Crosby, signing Hendrickson, it’s going to be top priority. We need a ILB. I really like Kaden Ellis. Sonny Styles should be in our draft range. We also need a tight end and it would be interesting to see this offseason with Kenyon Sadiq
