Byron Bell at DT?

I have searched the board but didn't find any real elaboration. The quote from Rivera caught my eye earlier this week, but I didn't follow up.

"A lot of guys, all they need is an opportunity," Rivera said. "He's a smart young man who understands football, and he's very athletic. We did a couple of things a couple of weeks ago when we had him line up in a defensive stance, and the kid could probably play three-technique in a 4-3 defense. He's an athlete.

Was this just playing around/scout team or were they looking at the possibility of using Bell on defense?

It's not like Bell has been playing like a pro bowler...why not give Ziemba or Reggie Wells a try and let the guy get some reps on defense if he really has the potential to play DT
