Rivera's Press Conference

- Phillips has a calf injury, Williams has a neck injury. They're going to talk to the doctors, and then he and Hurney are going to find the best solution.

- Said rookies better get ready to play through the season. This would be near the end of their season in college, and they have eight weeks left. He said they better be ready, because this is how it's going to be for the rest of their career.

- Said he never thought about going for the touchdown on the final 4th and 2. Wanted to play the percentages by going into overtime.

- He doesn't think there was a holding call on Smitty, but he's not making the calls.

- Is concerned with Pilares' drops on the returns, but, thinks he could've broke one yesterday, but got caught by one guy. Said he played well on special teams.

- Said Captain had a really good game yesterday.

- No decision on Brandon Hogan.

- Darius' family is waiting to see right now.

This sucks for so many reasons. I really hope things go well for his daughter.

We noticeably missed butler today, to boot. We could have used some of his perfect form tackling on AP.

At what point did we anger the LB gods?

It is not known by many, but... Bulrysh, supreme god of linebackers, has long flowing hair & he demands that mortal linebackers have the same to curry his favor.

Now there are exceptions, i.e. black LBs used to have afros, but Bulrysh decided the extra helmet cushion would weaken them.

In the 60s-80s, a thick mustache was acceptable. (Note:This was an option for black guys because as is common knowledge, at age 38 all black males must grow a mustache so they can look like that guy from The Wispers.) This was changed in the mid 90s due to the great ferreting of which all linebackers are forbidden to speak. All we know is that LBs became terrified of ferrets... (Note: Arron Rodgers discovered this & used to to great advantage. Whenever he was about to be sacked last year he would squeak & the LB would shart.)

Now then, Kevin Green had said long hair but cut it when his young son called him "mom". This offended Bulrysh & he spake "YOU MUTHERFUGGER!

We've been cursed ever since. (Note: when he became LB coach of the Packers the curse was lifted for him because of a bet between Bulrysh & Vince Lombardi... but that, is another tale...

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
