Vote for Panthers ProBowl nominees @ NFL.com

This has probably been posted before, sorry if it has, but...unlike national & state ballots, you should vote early & often! :D

I think the following Panthers definitely deseve the props: Cam; Smitty; Kalil; DeAngelo &/or Stewart (I picked both); Olsen & Shockey; Charles Johnson; Hardy; Anderson; Gamble; Munnerlyn; Martin; Mare (yeah right!...I did not vote for him); Baker (for % of punts dropped inside of the 20).

I think these Panthers can get votes, but may not 'deserve' it (I voted for them anyway): Gross; Conner; Godfrey; Jason Phillips-special teams.

It seems strange that they don't have our FB (Felton) listed at all? Maybe they don't think we ever use him?

Some of our guys really deserve the recognition. Happy voting!

Ummm, Gross has been one of the best LTs in the NFC...

In contrast Godfrey, Olsen, Shockey, Munnerlyn and Martin do not deserve the pro bowl.

Happy to support and vote for them, but please think about who you are giving credit to first...

Gross gets more credit for his name & draft position than his play. You think he is 1 of the best, that's your opinion; I don't. Jared Allen isn't the only player to work Gross over.

Maybe you missed the thread title...support Panthers. Of course they are not all probowlers, but then again, many of the guys who get selected don't deserve it anyway. It is the fans of teams like Pittsburg, GB, NY teams, etc. that have fans who support their players thru voting.

You don't think Olsen is probowl worthy? Interesting. 'please think about who you are not giving credit to first' :sifone:

Munnerlyn has played solid, but not probowl, I agree. I guess you would rather vote for other teams players in the probowl...what a fan you are.

Martin is top 3 in INTs & top 10 in tackles, + he's been injured & missed time. Way to know your team. He & Gamble have been the only DBs who I think are actually worthy of votes for the Panthers.

And we wonder why the Panther fans don't have a reputation of diehards & dedicated to our team like some fo the other teams (GB, Pit, Cle, Bills, Pats, Wash, Phi, Dal, etc.). Personally I'm fuggin sick of the 'wine & cheese'-type view of Panthers fans by other fans & commentators.

Gross was one of the best RT's in the league just a few years ago. Since his switch to LT, he's had days where he was a world beater, but usually, he's pretty average.

I wasn't a big fan of the switch, but I had hope it would work out back when Otah was healthy.

Then I'm sure you agree w/ me that we should draft an OT with our first rounder this year.

You're wasting your time voting. The NFL decides who goes and the whole fan voting is bullsh*t. Do you really think Ryan Kalil could make the Pro Bowl with fan votes?

Yeah i lol'd after i voted and it said "vote again." I didn't, voted once for the players i think deserves it the most.

    • Today, we are all Kucci... I miss our feral Russian attack goalie!
    • That was a good segment. Watched every minute of it and would highly recommend it to all fans.
    • "So much of what the Panthers are going to do next week isn't dictated by their preference, but by what happens above them. That's another benefit of not getting locked into need. For instance, if you're thinking you want a receiver, seeing five or six of them go off the board and reacting by taking the sixth or seventh off your list instead of the first (or second or third) something else isn't necessarily wise." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-back-into-the-weeds-of-the-nfl-draft-bryce-young-charlotte-hornets-mock-draft This is what some don't seem to get, I don't care how many times it is said: You're NOT going to draft an inferior person at one position, just because that position is perceived as, or is in fact, a bigger need. That would basically nullify, or at least lessen, the reason why you set yourself up via free agency to be able to take the BPA/BAP on the board in the first place.  Yes, the process is complex, very much involved and ongoing, but the overall philosophy is not rocket science. You set yourself up in order not to be pigeonholed into taking a lower graded player at the expense of a higher graded one. This is why Morgan, Gantt and countless of others say the same thing. This is why it's just nonsensical to set yourself in a position where you don't have to, but then act like you have to come hell or high water: "Oh, we have to draft [whatever position], and we can't draft [this position]."  I'm good with whatever they do, until proven otherwise, but even then, you have to be mature enough to know that drafting is an imperfect exercise, filled with hits and misses. And, you generally don't know if you've hit, and especially missed, right away. Moreover, like I've said before, sometimes two players--different positions or not--can both be hits on their respective teams, so in that sense, it's not purely about a right or wrong pick as much as it's about putting puzzle pieces together at the time the best way that you know how.  At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but one thing that's true is that what the Panthers do regarding the draft is dependent upon what others do, and what others do can and does change things. That being the case, it's just another reason why you can't go in with tunnel vision. The thought of doing that is preposterous.
