Peter King list Carolina among teams that may be interested in Cutler

Did you hear the segment, Crolls?

IMO he has the two Cutler doesn't. What he doesn't have and never did is that extreme physical talent.

Ioriginated the rock hoover post so yes.

I think out of the other two leadership was mentioned. I doubt he is respected s much as everyone thinks. He is clearly slipping and at least some loyalty paid is not genuine in my oipinion. The guy is slipping and has struggled for the last three years for certain. Excuse after excuse is being made and no matter how plausible they seem they are still excuses. Players do not like seeing excuses made for other players over and over especially if they or their unit or their team mateor even their coach ends up as part of that excuse.

I seriously doubt that many people look up to Jake Delhomme in that locker room. I have been on the field for many games. Believe it or not the guy curses like a sailor after every mistake he makes and pints fingers to receivers and lineman. I am not making this up and maybe this is where A lot of my disdain for him comes from but I LOL when people call somebody whiney and then stick up for Jake. Jake is a whiner. The press conference looks different and if I can commend him for anything its that. But on the field, it's nothis fault.

he's coming off a disaster that ruined what many, not just those on the team who upposedly look up to him, thought was a good shot at a something special.

If you cannot lead on the field, people get very tired of yor mouth after a while...That while has come or is coming. Let's face it. The guy isn't getting any better on the field.

I am not surprised a QB like Trent is playing down super-talented QB's with outstandin potential and playing up veteran intangibles that supposedly make up for talent. He was Jake Delhomme with better defense after all. You just cannot replace talent in my opinion.

Yeah I know he curses a blue streak. Doesn't bother me a bit. I assume you have actually heard what he says and you know he is blaming them or yelling at them. Anyway, part of a QB's job is to tell guys they need to do X or Y. He is supposed to know what each player's job is on a play and help correct them. If you think he's the only QB who does that I think you need to watch more QBs. I know Jordan Gross and others have said he never yells at them even when they deserve it. I also saw a clip of him talking to McCoy on the sidelines after he threw an INT and it was because Stewart seemed to be not where he was supposed to be. And guess what? Even though he wasn't talking to the media, he was talking to his coach on the sides, he did not say oh that Stewart what a dumb SOB, or I am pissed he did that or anything even remotely close to that. If other guys screw up and he takes the rap publicly, that's leadership. If he screws up and takes the blame publicly, that's also leadership.

Dilfer also just said on SC something I have said...Cutler gets away with throws that aren't great due to his sheer arm strength (I called it Favre accuracy, but my point was the same). He isn't downplaying Cutler's talent, he isn't arguing about that at all. Niether is Schlereth. They are simply saying that it is only one COMPONENT of what makes a QB a good one. And they are right.

Peter King is a joke of a journalist and by no means a "reliable media source for the NFL." I'm not saying this because it is my opinion. King is an opinion columnist. He does not nor never has presented himself as an "insider". Everything he puts out is purely opinion based. Jay Glazer, Mort, Scheftner, hell even the crept keeper are insiders but King is not.

Please note that I'm not saying that his information is wrong. It very well could be correct but if it is he got the information from one of the guys I listed above. That's what King does.

Okay, what are some examples that prove he's a "joke of a journalist"?

Skew... do you ever have anything positive to say????

No he doesn't, he thinks he knows it all and spends his time putting down other peoples ideas. It's like being a critic, he doesn't have any ideas of his own, he just sits back and pokes holes in other peoples ideas, observations, etc.

No, they wouldn't be in the press talking about it because they're not dumb enough to use that method and out themselves in breaking a written NFL rule.

Cmon now Crolls knows more than we do about how the front office works. He knows that when we were working with Gross we leaked info every day. Right?? Everyone knows that Hurney is known for talking about things and doing his negotiating in the newspaper and through sound bites. In fact when he decided to franchise Peppers we all heard it about days ahead of the deadline. Right?? When we began to negotiate with Jake it was Hurney who broke the news. Right???

And Crolls knows that We can't get anything for Peppers and are wasting our time trying to get more than a 2nd pick for him. How does he know, Maybe Hurney leaked it to the press and started a rumor all while denying it because he can't be negotiating.

Sarcasm off.

What other tidbits did I miss Crolls. Xclown and I are apparently out of the loop. We are naive enough to believe what people post about Hurney and Fox being very closed lipped and not discussing negotiations until they are concluded. But since you believe that Hurney is out there spreading rumors or will be as soon as he can, what have you heard????

On NFL Live just a few minutes ago, Mark Schlereth and Chris Mortenson, of all the teams in the league, said one team Jay Cutler would make an immediate Super Bowl contender would be the Carolina Panthers.

Well, Mortenson also said the Vikings, which I totally agree with. Our defense is nowhere near the Vikings at this time, however.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
