It was a combination of our crappy front-7 and Smith's desire. I mean, this dude was working a day job until this game. He got opportunities to sign elsewhere in the past, but no one would take a chance thanks to his injuries. Even the Lions worked him out a few times but didn't sign him.

Carolina's D makes any RB look good. Look at what CJ did to Carolina and the only time he makes any effort to move at all is taking his overpaid butt to the bank to cash his check.

Without reading, their oline blocked very well, allowing smith to get past the front of the defense, where our defensive backs were terrible in run support.
