my dad took me to a game against the bucs when they had those jerseys on.

the panthers got their first shutout ever that day.

Ha Ha, I suspect there are some Panther fans who think you are just blowin smoke. I have no reason to doubt you other than to say if your age is actually 24, you would have been about 9 or 10 at the time.

And to add to that, 1996 was the last year for the Creamsicle uni until they started wearing it for retro games in the last few years.

Panthers don't need throwback uniforms when the current ones look fine. With those creamsicle uniforms, no wonder they changed. Those are frankly embarrassing. Then again so were the Bucs for most of their franchise history.

steve smith seemed to acknowledge that nike was in charlotte deciding on new uniforms for next year(and he agrees that the white should be changed).

yep, the tickets were a present for my 9th birthday. I got a nice heavy panther jacket from starter (you remember those from the 90's?) and in the pocket were tickets to the panthers game the next day. First game I ever went to. Twas awesome.

So if we change uniforms next year, how many Smitty jerseys would be sold? Panther fans wanting to get both of them. Of course players are in favor of new uniforms, more revenue to share. On the other hand, the white ones are bland enough to warrant upgrading.

A belated Happy Birthday to you. Enjoy those fond memories of that game tomorrow. We will have to agree to disagree on this one but I sure hope the result is different for our side. :)

Ha, I remember that one very well. I listened to it on crappy radio while studying for finals. Kevin Greene was big time that game.
