If The Golden Calf of Bristol doesn't think God cares then why in the hell is he praying on the sidelines of the game during the game? It's just flat out stupid to thank God or Allah or Raptor Jesus for winning anything, much less a game, and it's insulting to those of us with a functioning brain and a proclivity for logic to think that if such a deity did exist that he would give a flying fvck about any of it.

And this is coming from someone who devotes an inordinate amount of time to sports and the teachings of Raptor Jesus.

It's clear that his beliefs are what irks people about him. If you remove his outspoken beliefs from the equation, and just show people tape of him otherwise, I find it hard to believe many people would find a reason to dislike him.

And the thing is, he isn't trying to convert people, he's just letting you know that this is what he believes, if you happen to be interested then I'm sure he would be willing to share. He's using his platform to express his beliefs.

I don't remember people hating on Esera Tuaolo or whatever his name is when he came out and told everyone he enjoyed teh butsecks.

Jake Plummer pretty much confirmed for me all I needed to know about why people blindly hate The Golden Calf of Bristol.

I too am a Christian, but I'm not nearly the person he appears to be, so I admire him for that. I would think other people would as well because regardless of what you believe, he still seems to be a very genuine and morally upstanding person in a time where there isn't much of that.

Additionally, I'm always a sucker for underdogs, and with guys like Merril Hoge out there, I really hope he proves people like that wrong on the field.

And from everything I've read/seen/heard, he doesn't feel God influences the outcomes of his games.

[no offense to anyone in this thread regarding your beliefs, just felt I should express mine and I'm not trying to force them on you - thank you...]

And for the record I find The Golden Calf of Bristol to be delightful. I'm sure he's as nice a guy off camera as he appears to be on, and I think even his biggest detractors would have a hard time arguing he has some intangible winning quality.

I just like to point out what a glaring leap in logic you'd have to take to think prayer has any affect on Denver's improbable win streak.

the thing is, I do think The Golden Calf of Bristol believes god cares about him and how he does. who knows, maybe he's right. I don't have a problem with him praying, but I do wish every time a camera got on him he didn't bend his knee and bow his head in prayer, or at the start, three times in the middle and twice at the end, need to thank God and Jesus. I do think lately especially he has been much better about thanking his fellow players, though.

Honestly most of my issue with The Golden Calf of Bristol is actually not with The Golden Calf of Bristol but the coverage *of* The Golden Calf of Bristol. I actually think his story is inspirational as far as the football side of things, I don't need it shoved in my face he's religious 24/7. The guy is a good story without the need to remind us he's a Christian every second of every day and how much controversy there is about him being a Christian and blah blah blah blah blah...

Does it tick people off when before stepping in the batters box, many latin American players do the "cross" thing on their chest? Are they saying something religious? Obviously so. Why no outrage? A lot of them make outs, duh? Mean God doesn't care?

Or for them, is it an acknowledgement that God gives them ability? Some Catholic needs to let us know. how bout it?

Its just equaly amusing for people to whine about the coverage. Oh its so much The Golden Calf of Bristol. Oh man he is on his knee again. So lets see. You like sports. Its football season so you are watching alot of football right now. Broncos are winning dramatic fashion. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING TO SEE ON TV? Lol

The baseball in the batters box is a fair analogy.

Lighten up fellas. If you dont believe you got nothing to worry about. Season is almoost over.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
