Rivera will be the best coach we have had to date

When you lead 12 out of 13, you have a chance to win games. We're a lot better than we're giving ourselves an opportunity for," Rivera said. "We've got to grow up and get past a lot of things. We've got to get past, 'It is what it is,' because it's not. We are better than that, and we have to start playing like that. We have to start growing up.

I liked that quote.

The whole lot of them get a pass this year.

Next year, the 'young team' excuse won't fly and neither will 'it's a process' or 'that's not accceptable.'

Wins are all that matter in pro football.

He will have free agency, he will have another draft, and the question I have is how come the run defense is so much better WITHOUT his two #3 draft picks playing...that is very concerning.

The same is true of Hurney...of course, Hurney is Richardson's bitch so he's not going anywhere.

As a player - Bears won

As a DC - his D excelled and his teams won

------

As a OC in college or the pro his offenses overall have ranked near the top. Only 1 year can you claim otherwise

We are speaking present tense. Rivera was a winner. Right now he is a loser.

Two Rookie DTs. Rivera wanted to see them play and get some real experience even though they probably were not our best options. Hopefully with a full offseason to get in shape, bulk up and get stronger they will get better.

They get a pass too....for now.

No offense, I don't agree with that, best players, play.

They were not the best players.

A change should have been made long before they went down.

Frankly, I'll be surprised if one of those DTs is still in the league next year.

Not fair to the other 42 players.

They are not the best players now but they may have the potential to be. DT is a lot about strength and the conditioning. They had no offseason and the conditioning between the Pros and College is immense.

There is a possibility both of them might not make the team. There always is.

"(insert coach's name) doesn't have his own players" is the worst argument in all of sports. The fact is Rivera, with these players, has been in a position to win 12 of 13 this year and the team has only won 4 of those 12. That is not impressive and signals a loser.

With the exception of the bolded statement, I could not agree more. As to the bolded part, yes, I think both will be in the NFL next year.

But you are absolutely right that is was unfair to the other players on the team (42?) to keep these guys out there at the expense of the rest of the team. Things like that can cost a coach respect in the locker room. Hopefully, Ron will learn going forward.
