Points per game: 10th (24.4)

Offensive Points per game (points scored by actual offense): 7th (23.6)

Yards per game: 5th (392.9)

Yards per drive: 6th (34.7)

Points per drive: 6th (2.13)

TDs per drive: 5th (.252)

Punts per drive: 11th (.387)

TOs per drive: 21st (.135)

Starting field position: 24th (26.98)

Drive success rate (avoiding three and outs): 6th (.724)

Red Zone attempts: 7th

Red Zone TDs: 5th

Red Zone TD percentage: 6th (58%)

Only thing that I will add is that over the last three weeks our red zone TD efficiency has been an amazing 90% :eek:

Points allowed per game: 26th (26.3)

Opponent's offense points per game (actual points defense allows): 27th (24.4)

Yards allowed per game: 23rd (364.9)

Yards allowed per drive: 30th (35.14)

Points per drive: 31st (2.35)

TDs allowed per drive: 29th (.262)

Punts forced per drive: 31st (.345)

Takeaways per drive: 20th (.124)

Average starting defending field position: 19th (28.72)

Opposing team's Drive success rate: 28th (.718)

Opponents red zone attempts: 25th

Opponents red zone TDs: 26th

Opponents red zone TD percentage: 20th (56.25%)

The defense is creeping up most of these rankings and it looks like the team is starting to figure this defensive philosophy out. We just have too many injuries to overcome on that side of the ball and so we can't seem to make up too much ground.

I was going to make a post asking about our redzone efficiency. You da man teeray.

Our offense has been developing and fine tuning all season. It's a process, I remember how bad illegal formations, false starts and holding calls were killing us in the red zone. Now unless Mare is involved we are going to score. Looking at those offensive stats and how we will improve just by having a real off season I think our entire focus should be on the defensive side of the ball.

To me the amazing part of the offense is the points scored despite of the field position. This means that we score on many long drives which is amazing.

I remember reading somewhere that we have the most scoring drives of more than 80+ yards or something along those lines.

Teeray is it possible to post the ratings from the beginning of the season to see how we have improved.

I will see what I can do.

I can tell you off the top of my head that we have been pretty consistent throughout the season. Between 8th and 4th in TDs per drive, yards per drive, avoiding three and outs, and points per drive. We had a dip down to double digits in those categories after the Tennessee game, but other than that we have been top 10 in most categories every week.

The only thing that there has been a serious improvement in from the start of the season to now is red zone TD efficiency.

We were in the bottom third of the league in that category until about 5 weeks ago. Since then we have been on an amazing tear. I think in the last 5 weeks we are at about 85% in red zone TDs conversions.

Here I will do this instead. Here is our offensive stats from 2010 so you can see how and where (everywhere :lol:) we improved over last season:

DVOA: 32

Points per game: 32nd (12.2)

Offensive PPG (actual offense): 32nd (11.7)

Yards per game: 32nd (258.4)

Yards per drive: 32nd (20.62)

Points per drive: 32nd (0.95)

TDs per drive: 32nd (.082)

punts per drive: 30th (.485)

Turnovers per drive 29th (.179)

Average starting field position: 28th (28.48)

Drive Success Rate (avoiding three and outs): 32nd (.556)

Red Zone attempts: 32nd

Red Zone TDs: 32nd

Red Zone TD percentage 32nd (30.30%)

It is amazing what an innovative OC, talented QB, and a couple of tight ends can do for an offense :lol:

Our offense was straight terrible last year. It is amazing we even won two games.

      You could say that-- but if we don't need a starting OT this year, why would you draft a flawed one that is not going to play? (We are coming from different underlying assumptions and perspectives--I see your argument and don't disagree with the premise) Your thinking is based on the assumption that an OT for the future is more important than immediate needs at other positions, or that we can meet other needs in later rounds even if we take the OT in round 1.  I do not think there is but 1 OT worthy of a first-round grade---they are mocked based on need and demand--if we do not have a need for a starter right now, a team at 18 may grab a T that is the 33rd best player--worth it if you have no starting T, but not if you have a starter.  So just because they are mocked around the middle of the first it does not mean that the players are good values--teams get desperate.  QBs are a great example.  Simpson may be worth it in round 1 for the Cardinals, but not the Jets, because they have Geno Smith.  Sure, they will need a QB by next year, but taking Simpson is a reach. I do not see our need, with 2 starters (Walker and Moton) and another possibly returning by the end of the season enough to justify ranking OT over positions like Safety, Will LB--I do not think we replaced A Shawn Robinson (We gonna put a NT out there?  Wharton (280lbs)?  So do we reach in round 1 for a player who may not play much or do we get a Will LB that can cover?  A deep free safety?  A quality center? A playmaking TE?  A DT to replace Robinson?  A wide receiver to balance the secondary?  Long term, if the right player was there, you would be right.  Short term, OT is a luxury at this point, in my view.

      We arent switching. Evero is 3-4 to the core. Given how 3-4 has been a noticeable characteristic of top defenses recently and we have drafted and signed players fir it  I dont know why anyone would think that's a good idea
