Big Cat Talks About Cam

It's just a blurb in Peter King's Week 16 picks, but it's something. . .

"You know what I love about Cam?" owner Jerry Richardson of the Panthers told me the other day about Cam Newton. "He hates to lose. He really hates to lose. That's something I really like to see in our team leaders." It's taken Newton about five months to become one of the main ones on this team.

We need more guys with that attitude, those who refuse to give up. Attitude was one thing I was hoping to see Rivera change. We need swagger as an entire team.

I as well.. It takes time for the tides to change.. If Rivera sticks by his plan that this year is an audition and those who don't cut it are gone, that'll be a drastic change from our last regime who kept everyone until their wheels fell off..

I keep hearing RR say in his radio interviews that his players are either.......

"going to get better or we're going to move on."

I love it.

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
