Excluding the top 16 ranked QB's which teams need to go in a different direction

17 Kevin Kolb, QB ARI-----Too much invested in him to quit now, was dumb move to start with.

18 Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB BUF-----Same with Kolb. He just got paid...stick with him..

19 Matt Hasselbeck, QB TEN-----Go with Locker next year..

20 Joe Flacco, QB BAL----Don't see them getting rid of Flacco...nothing better.

21 Tarvaris Jackson, QB SEA----If they can get a QB in the draft or FA, DO IT.

22 Mark Sanchez, QB NYJ----He makes some bad plays, but I say stick with him.

23 Kyle Orton, QB DEN/KC----Matt Cassel will take over next year.

24 The Golden Calf of Bristol, QB DEN---Find someone....anyone..

25 Carson Palmer, QB OAK----Gave up WAY too much for him to move on.

26 Matt Cassel, QB KC---He's not a bad QB. Stay.

27 Josh Freeman, QB TB Stay. He's been bad this year, but he shown last year he has what it takes..

28 Colt McCoy, QB CLE-----This guy has NO weapons. Hard to tell with him.

29 Rex Grossman, QB----Move on...

30 Christian Ponder, QB---Guy is a rookie QB. Don't bail on him, with a year under his belt, he'll get better.

31 Sam Bradford, QB----Same as McCoy...no weapons.

32 John Skelton, QB ARI----If Kolb doesn't get any better, start him.

33 Curtis Painter, QB IND---Pffffft. Move on.

34 Blaine Gabbert, QB JAC----He is pretty bad....buuut they also have no weapons for him.

My take..

Kolb would be a waste of a 2nd and a promising corner, so they have to keep him. Fitz is being given a lot of cash, so he's locked. At least he's decent. Hass is old, and they have Locker. Flacco stays, he's alright. Jackson sucks, Sanchez I'd say give him another year, Orton can be a backup. The Golden Calf of Bristol will be gone once the Broncos lose into next year. Palmer, Cassel, and Freeman stay, McCoy could be replaced. Grossman's too inconsistent to be a long term solution, Ponder's okay, Bradford needs a more protective O line, Skelton stays in case Kolb does poorly, Painter goes and Gabbert becomes the next Clausen.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
