I don't give a damn who they were written for, these books are off the fuxxing chain.

The general plot is it's a post apocalyptic Earth and there's some country called Panem. The country has the capital at the center and 12 surrounding districts. Each year, the capital puts on a gladiator-like competition where a male and a female from each district that is between the ages of 12-18 is randomly chosen to participate. The games are in like remembrance of a rebellion that happened long ago, to remind the districts that the capital takes no sh*t.

Anyways, 24 kids are put into a giant arena where they use survival, combat, and intellect to outlast each other. The last one alive wins the games and basically becomes rich and famous.

It's been made into a movie too, so check out the trailer. Set to come out in March I believe. I just pray it turns out more like Potter/LOTR and not Twilight or some sh*t like that.

I read the first one after buying it before a flight, but never the sequels and I think I would prefer it as a stand alone. It was decent, sort of like The World's Most Dangerous Game or The Running Man.

The story in the first book was pretty cool then it died in the second book. The third book tried hard to come back after the second but it just was not enough.

Woody Harrelson? I had forgotten it was filmed here. I hope the movie works though. I'm afraid of another Twilight like film.
