3rd Mock Draft. Last one into after the combine. Trades included.

I'm doing the top 17 picks and how I believe the draft probably should go.

1. Colts- Andrew Luck QB Stanford 6-4 235. The Colts have no choice here but to take the best QB in the draft. They will have him for the next 10 to 15 years.

2. Rams- Matt Kalil OT USC 6-7 295. Kalil is an elite LT with room to grow into a bigger body. The Rams must take Kalil at this spot if they want to keep Sam Bradford healthy.

3. *Trade* Redskins- RGIII QB Baylor 6-2 220. This is it for the Redskins, they have to get there QB of the future. I have them trading with the Vikings to get him.

4. Browns- Justin Blackmon WR 6-1 211. This is a very tricky position the Browns will be in. They have a chance to pick between Justin Blackmon,Trent Richardson, and Morris Claiborne. This pick will be based on if Peyton Hillis leave. I think Hillis stays and the Browns get Blackmon.

5. Buccanners- Morris Claiborne CB 6-0 173. I have the buccs taking the best CB in the draft in Claiborne. The Buccs need help on the OL but I have them taking the best player at 5.

6. Vikings- Johnthan Martin OT Stanford 6-6 304. The Vikings traded with the Redskins to be in this position. They also picked up multiple picks to build for the future. They start building now, when they take the second best OT in the draft in Martin.

7. *Trade* Cowboys- Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama 6-3 190. The cowboys are in desperate need to land a big time CB/Safety. Rob Ryan loves to blitz, so that means he needs to have a CB who can play man to man coverage. Kirkpatrick is more of a safety to me. Kirkpatrick needs to run faster then a 4.55 40 at the combine so he can prove to scouts he can play CB in the league.

8.* Trade* Bengals- Trent Richardson RB Alabama 5-11 224. The Bengals have traded up to snag the RB in Trent Richardson. Richardson is the most Complete RB in the draft since AP.

9. Miami- Riley Rieff OT Iowa

10.Bills- Courtney Upshaw OLB Alabama

11.Chiefs- Davis Castro OG Stanford

12. Seahawks- Quinton Coples DE UNC

13.Cardinals- Luke Kuchley MLB Boston College

14.Jaguars- Alshon Jeffrey WR SC

15.Eagles- Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame

16.Jets- Nick Perry USC

17th pick from the Raiders that the Bengals aquired. *Trade* Panthers- Devon Still DT Penn State 6-5 310. The Panthers stacked up on a couple of picks in this draft. They switch the 8th overall pick with the Bengals 17th overall and gained the orginal bengals draft pick and a third in the draft.

Panthers Mock

17. Devon Still

Orginal bengals pick ** Chase Minnifield CB

2nd - Nick Toon WR

3rd - Travis Lewis OLB

4rd- Delano Howell FS

5th-OL depth

6th-QB depth

7th-Rb Depth

I really like your first two draft day trades with the Redskins and Cowboys.. they were both justified and could see that happening. But I don't think the Bengals would trade up with us for Richardson.. the Dolphins are not going to take Richardson at #9.. they drafted a RB in the 2nd round last season and Reggie Bush is emerging. So the Bengals have no reason to jump ahead. The Kansas City Chiefs may be interested in Richardson at #11, but the Bengals would trade with the Bills at #10, and not give up as much. Don't see that trade happening at all. Besides, according to the value chart, we should get the Bengals 2nd round and 4th round pick to warrant moving down that many spots.. not a 3rd rounder.

Overall, I love the draft.. I could see the draft going exactly like that, minus the Panthers trade with the Bengals. You have to think about which team would jump the Dolphins for Reilly Rieff. Is there a team? That would be more realistic.

Oh, and I am not a fan of Nick Toon either.

^^What Lout said. I could still see us trading back with someone should Blackmon/Richardson fall though. There will be a team to make a completely stupid trade offer (ala ATL last year) to move up to get a guy they love. Wouldn't mind being the beneficiary of a trade like that. If I'm the Bengals, I would be trying to move up for Richardson should he fall to our area and build with Dalton, Green, and Richardson. I'd also be pissed if he go WR in the 2nd unless Floyd/Jeffrey falls for some reason.

I have heard of all of these trades happening, but this is the first time I have seen them together. THis is more like what will really happen.

Here is the logic I agree with:

If The Rams take Kalil, Minnesota trades. If the Rams take Blackmon (some mocks show it--I do not think it will happen), then the Vikings do not deal and take Kalil.

That screws everything up.

I see the logic with the Dallas trade. However, I guess they would have to love Kirkpatrick and his physicality. That trade would be costly. I would ask myself this: Would I rather lose a second rounder and get Kirkpatrick, or would I rather take Janoris Jenkins and not lose a second rounder, but get his baggage? Tough call. IF they love Kirkpatrick, the make that deal.

Finally, Cincy has 2 lower first rounders (Carsen Palmer trade) so they will make a move if Richardson drops. They would love him, but they have to hate the fact that in-state rival Cleveland picks ahead of their trade range a bit. Basically, if he gets by Cleveland, he could go to either of the Florida teams afterwards. Will Cleveland pass on the best RB in a very shallow RB class and take the best WR in a fairly deep WR class? If I am Cleveland, I take the RB (even if Hillis stays, they need 2 and they are different animals). I think the Browns will build around Colt then replace him after he sucks. With the Falcons pick (Julio J Trade) they could add a RT or WR.

I disagree with the Panther picks, however.

I am stuck on the idea of the Panthers protecting Cam and taking a LT. How many top LTs are available every year? 2 or 3. They are gone by the 12th pick. When will the Panthers draft in the top 12 again? How old is Gross? How healthy is Otah? How much do they want to keep Cam upright? Left Tackles are about as hard to come by as QBs. You get one when you can.

We could move Gross to RT, move Bell and Otah to RG. Move Schwartz to LG, cut Wharton and spend the salary cap savings on a veteran DT.

Everybody wins.

I really want the Panthers to take Johnthan Martin from Stanford. He is the best OT in this draft other then Kalil. Don't get me wrong, Rieff is a good prospect but I don't know if he will be athletic enough to do what we do in our offense. Some people believe Rieff will be nothing but a solid RT. If we take an OT he should be able to play LT now so we can move Gross to RT.

I am going on write ups more than actual footage, so I respect your opinion. Frankly, I watched about 5 minutes of each player on you tube and I thought Reiff was a tad better, but your point about OUR offense is huge. Less aggressive, more zone blocking. Staying with your man longer while Cam does his thing.

Keeping a legend safe has to count for something too. Good points.
