Carl Nicks is expected to leave NO through FA

So if you were Colston you would take a huge pay cut and only be the #3 option on the team? I think the whole playing for Brees thing is overrated for WRs because he spreads the ball out so much. I'm sure Colston wants to be 'the man' and be paid like it. Not have less targets than a TE and scat RB.

I don't give a sh-t what the players do or think. I just think I am pretty sure I would tag the guard and let the playmakers weigh the situations of their new options and let that go into the negotiations.

Dude, you just said that.....but ok

I see where I am confusing you. To clarify I was simply saying what I would think if I were them and then determining who has the biggest reason to want to stick around and leave those players up to negotiations and tag the one that had the easiest move.

So I did say "If I were" but that was more from a perspective of the man making the decision and not the players themselves.

Sorry about that.

Not sure what Colston has without Brees (best ball out there) and without a dome.

I am sure he has confidence but they are not gonna pay him what he might want if like you said, he is getting the third most targets. So NO holds the cards on him I think.

I don't think Brees dares to play outside and on grass and without 5-6 proven targets. He is old and pretty much a family fixture in the city. He's not going anywhere. NO took a huge chance on him once and it has worked out well for both parties.

That guard will get snatched up before offers even come in on the other two IMO.

As of right now all we can do is dream. Because unless Hurney restructures some contracts and and give the team a load cash to spend this offseason. Don't expect to see either of those guys here. We spent most of our money on Johnson, TD, Dwill, Benson, and Anderson this past offseason. We got to have the cap to fill the holes we have on D right now. Offense can use a few upgrades. But breaking the bank on one guy is not wise when we have some holes to fill this offseason. Don't see it happening.

Word i would reconstruct Davis contract to the league minimum.

Edwards at DT, have an injury clause in there somewhere incase he drops out again.

and honestly alot of the problem is spending too much on charles johnson.

Don't get me wrong he is a great player but that is too much.

Brees will end up getting one of the largest contracts ever. Manning and Brady type money. I don't know their cap situation, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose both Nicks and Colston. Neither are coming here, but I'd kill for Nicks. 3 Pro Bowl guys on the line, and maybe 10 or so games of Otah? Yes please.

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
