I miss the old rpgs

Well it has been proven that attention spans continue to shorten as time goes on and the old rpgs were of the slower moving, but great storyline, variety. Games are much more in your face and faster now. Not much time to soak in the experience. I play newer games, but they don't stick like the older ones did. I guess I just miss that feeling when playing a great game...

Old RPGs were awesome except for the grinding. It seemed like every RPG from before the newest generation had some point built into the game where the difficulty level would go up a whole lot just to get an extra 10 hours of grinding gameplay.

FF3 was the poo though.

Space Quest too. I must have died a quintillion times on the 4th game.

Also Battletoads owns your face as far as difficulty.

Also I went back and played Symphony of the Night a couple years ago and could still enjoy it.

I put down FF3 every time I try to play back through it right before the ruined world.

Dragon Warrior 3 for NES. That's the ultimate in classic console rpgs.

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
